Absolutely! Faculty and staff are welcomed and encouraged to experience John Jay Dining Hall for brunch or dinner. All-you-care-to-eat meals are available for $9.95 plus tax for brunch (served 10:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. daily) and $12.95 plus tax for dinner (5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. daily).

The food in the Mensa (cafeteria) is very German and very good. There are two other possibilities for eating on campus: the Cafeteria (where you can purchase hot food, sandwiches, coffee, hot cocoa, soft drinks, sweets, etc.) and the Bistro (with sandwiches and drinks).

Yes. Please tell the cashier you would like your meal to-go at the time of purchase. Unfortunately, you may not stay in the dining hall if you choose a meal to-go. The to-go box must be fully closed when you leave. The to-go option is a convenience for you. If you choose unlimited portions, you must dine-in.

Our resident dining halls are designed to offer "all you care to eat" within the facility. Guests are more than welcome to finish their ice cream or piece of fruit as they are leaving the dining hall. Or if you are seeking another dining option try the new take out “Take 5ive ” at Harris/Millis.

Students regularly rate the food in the dining hall as good to excellent and enjoy the variety. Breakfast and some dinners are served buffet style. Lunch and some dinners are served family style.

There are comment cards on the main floor of Jennings Hall that are replied to on a regular basis by management staff. There is a Food Committee chaired by the VP Student Life (of the Students' Administrative Council) and attended by reps from each house, Dining Services management staff and the Residence Manager. Any comments can be passed along through house reps. And Dining Services staff are always more than willing to hear your comments and suggestions.

All students on a meal plan are entitled to bring a guest once a semester to the dining hall at no additional charge. To receive your guest pass, stop by the Dining Service office during business hours prior to the meal you wish to use it. Additional meals can be purchased at the checkers stands.

The Chalice is in memoriam to Reverend David H. Clark. The chalice on the Dining Hall was purchased with funds given in memory of Reverend David H. Clark who went to be with the Lord in 2002. Reverend Clark earned a degree in both Christian Education and in Ministry. He worked in camp and conference related activities for fifty years as a camp counselor, on the Indiana Regional Staff (from 1970 to 1972), on the Camp Commission and the Site Committee.

If you can't eat during the regular serving hours because of a class conflict, arrangements may be made with the food service manager to eat early or to reserve a late plate.

Guests staying on campus have the option of purchasing the daily meal plan for $23.50 per day instead of the box lunches, buffet dinner, and banquet dinner; but you would have to eat your meals in the campus dining room. Be aware that a traditional breakfast isn't available unless you purchase the daily meal plan. The Lewis & Clark College campus is somewhat isolated; therefore off-campus meals are unavailable unless private transportation is used.
