Here are a few general recommendations. Check your address(es) with our system so you know how many lists you are on. If you are on a spam list, change your email address to a 'clean' address. Cancel the address(es) that the spammers are using. Be careful where you surf ... your new address may be captured again. Use a separate email address if you shop online, one that you can change often without having to inform your friends/family of the change.

AOL and other groups are attempting a number of solutions to junk email, both legal and technical. Success may very well be far off, due to the scope of the problem. Logon to DreamMail and set up your SPAM settings. In DreamMail, click on SPAM settings and set SPAM score to a low value of 4 or 5. Move any unmarked SPAM into the Learn As Spam folder so the system will learn what is spam and delete it next time around. When reading an unwanted email in DreamMail, click on Block Sender. Any email from this email address will be blocked and deleted.

No service can catch all spam or viruses, in part because there is not an agreed upon definition for what spam is and in part of because spammers are constantly working on ways to avoid filters. This is easy to stop with the Bad Behavior plugin. Bad Behavior is a plugin that can recognize spambots and completely block them before they even reach your site.
