The heart of Shadow Poetry exists through our Community of Poets (member section), Message Board, and Publications. We have designed a web site for members as well as all amateur poets/writers to share their work, and to have it displayed on the web or published in print form. The web site and message board give everyone a chance to display some of their work for all to read. Shadow Poetry uses three main navigation bars at the top and bottom of each page. The first navigation bar (Fig. #1) contains the seven main categories featured on the Shadow Poetry site: Home, Members, Resources, Chapbooks, Magazines, Contests, and Bookstore. To access these sections, simply press any one of these buttons or use the drop down menu (Fig #2) that is activated from each category when your mouse rolls over them.

A poem is an answer to a question or problem. Poets are philosophers who ponder questions and problems, and occasionally come up with an answer, which they call a poem. If you want to write a poem, think about a question or problem, but don't try to answer it. Let the question or problem sink from your conscious into your unconscious. Then wait until your unconscious contacts you, in a dream, a random thought, or a sudden insight, with an answer. This answer will be your poem.

If you are a Community of Poets member and depending on how many submissions we have per day, your work should be ready for viewing with in 24 hours. Your submission will not appear automatically after sending it to Shadow Poetry. If you have submitted work with an invalid email address, in all CAPS, or material we feel is inappropriate, we reserve the right not to display your work.

Each contestant is required to prepare two performances. The League establishes categories each performance must meet. The categories change every 2-3 years. Study the category descriptors published in the C&CR carefully. Visit the UIL web site and review the UIL Prose and Poetry Handbook for expanded explanations of the categories. The handbook can be ordered from the UIL State office.

From your BackStage Manager, select the Media tab to view the existing videos in your Video Gallery. You can enter any of these videos into a contest by clicking the Submit button (located in the Contest column) and then selecting a Contest Round from the drop-down box. To upload a new video and enter it into a contest, use the Add Video button in the upper-right corner.

Shadow Games Inc. is a non-profit organisation which has as its major aim the promotion of roleplaying in Sydney. The main way Shadow Games does this is by running conventions. There are two conventions each year that are run by members of Shadow Games - Sydcon, currently held over the Easter long weekend, and Necronomicon, currently held over the October long weekend.
