All of our snacks except for Stealth Chips, CHAOS, Honey Wheat Pretzels and Pirate's Pretzels are Gluten Free (There is a Gluten and Wheat free version of the Chaos). Since gluten is used on other snacks at the plant, we do not put it on our bags. They run our snacks first, thoroughly clean the machines between runs, and train all the employees on allergen control to reduce the possibility of cross contamination. However, we cannot 100% guarantee that there can never be a cross-contamination.

Our ExtendCrisps are made from gluten-free ingredients, but are not certified gluten-free because the manufacturing process for the Crisps hasn't been confirmed to adequately protect from gluten contamination from other products made at the facility. Although the exact cause of celiac disease is not known, having certain genes increases your risk. You are more likely to have these genes and may get celiac disease if you have a first-degree relative (mother, father, brother, sister, son, or daughter) with the condition. Environmental factors, such as viral or bacterial infections, may trigger changes in the small intestine in people with these genes; then, eating foods that contain gluten can trigger an abnormal immune system response.

A few patients have a poor clinical and/or histologic (biopsy) response to the diet. An important step in assessing patients who are non-responders is to confirm the diagnosis of celiac disease by review of the original biopsy, preferably by an expert gastrointestinal pathologist. ANS: The positive foods diet is extremely LOW in cholesterol (it can or may even be totally cholesterol free!). If you have been advised to reduce your cholesterol levels this is a helpful diet for that reason. Although it has been stated that a person must be eating gluten to be able to detect antibodies to gliadin in blood, we have found that this is not true for our stool tests (and other researchers have found the same when sampling upper intestinal contents with tubes).
