Make sure you and your child understand the commitment involved. The games start the first week of April and the season ends in early June. If you are considering participating in both ALITHSA soccer and any other sport such as AAYO (baseball), football or hockey, be aware that you will experience many scheduling conflicts. Although it may seem possible to participate in both sports simultaneously, we strongly discourage this practice.

The fact is that we rarely experience a child who is not happy with their new abilities. We will do our best to accommodate everyone. However, once the class has started there will be no refunds. If a student does not like the class we will try to move them to another class or find a student to replace them off of the waiting list. The rules require each child be allowed to play 50% of a game. There are exceptions but parents, opposing coach and referees must be made aware of the reasons for this before a game starts.

Learning to live with differences, good communication, and being open to compromise, are key to a positive roommate experience. Members of the residence life staff are especially trained to assist students who may have roommate problems, and it is important that students seek out these individuals as soon as possible. In those instances in which differences cannot be worked through, most colleges do allow students to request a roommate change after a designated period of time.

The different foods your child will enjoy on a Student Ambassador journey reflect the culture and traditions of the destinations. Trying new foods is a fun way to experience unique cultures and an opportunity for personal growth. Most delegation meals include a choice of items or a buffet of selections, so your child should be able to find foods he or she enjoys.

We have lots of alternatives on our a la carte menu. Choose from pasta salad, houmous with vegetables for dipping, water biscuits rice cakes etc.

Swimming, like many activities, might generate anxieties with children. These anxieties may be most evident on the first day of lessons. As each week progresses these anxieties will be less and less evident. That's why we schedule six week sessions. Time and familiarity eases the anxiety. You can help your child through this period by bringing them to Family Swims. The opportunity to use the pool on "their terms" often helps. Play can be a great teaching aid.

The food program at Christian Chapel Day Care is both delicious and nutritious. The food is prepared on site in our own kitchen by our own cooks. Some of the parents comment regularly about the wonderful aromas as breakfast or lunch is prepared. The children enjoy the food prepared here. We find that usually even the fussiest eater finds something in the meal to eat. Your child will not be forced to eat, but we do encourage children to "taste" some of every food.

While Montessori students are allowed considerable latitude to pursue topics that interest them, this freedom is not absolute. Within every society there are cultural norms; expectations for what a student should know and be able to do by a certain age. Experienced Montessori teachers are conscious of these standards and provide as much structure and support as is necessary to ensure that students live up to them.

No one specific piece is crucial to the success or failure of a student. However, if a student does not like a piece, it is often because it seems difficult in some way. Students often discover that "least-favorite" pieces later become "most-favorite" pieces after some quality practice. Ask the teacher if there is something the child does not understand about the piece. If the student continues to dislike the piece, sometimes the teacher can find a substitute piece that teaches the same concept.

Last resort, a club officer will monitor the next game to verify the playing time rule is being followed. If not then the board will hold a special meeting to sanction the coach.

Many individuals with autism experience disturbed sleep. This can be stressful on the family, as they may also become sleep deprived. If your child is experiencing disturbed sleep you should speak with your medical and treatment team about treatment strategies to address this behavior.

Many individuals with autism will not eat or will only eat specific foods. The reason for these behaviors may stem from medical reasons or Sensory Integration Dysfunction. Families who are experiencing difficulties with feeding are encouraged to address these concerns with their medical and treatment team.

Your child may not like praise because he or she is uncomfortable giving or receiving a compliment. With each experience your child has, however, the discomfort should decrease. Perhaps your child is uncomfortable only with public displays of praise, especially in front of friends. If that's the case, save your praise for a more private moment.

Although we intend to explore the reasons for wanting to change a sport, our main goal is to make sure each camper is happy with their camp experience. We provide the opportunity to switch into a different sport before the second day of each session if your child is not satisfied with his/her choice. Switching is always based on availability while providing minimal disruption to the existing sports.

Yes! At breakfast, there will always be cereal, fruit and often yogurt. At lunch and dinner there will always be a salad and sandwich bar with peanut butter and jelly or cheese. In addition there will be vegetarian alternatives.
