Criteria for the selection of periodicals are the same as for books, with the added consideration of whether the periodicals reflect current thinking in the various fields represented, have high interest and demand, are representative in their points of view, and provide recreational as well as informational reading.

The NLS Opening Reception is Tuesday, August 24, 2004 at 6:00 pm. However, most Line Offices will be conducting pre-seminar meetings at the Airlie Center that afternoon. The online reservation system will be open from Monday, July 24th ? Friday, August 4th. Attendees were sent instructions on how to register via email from Tracy Scott, the NLS Program Manager, on Friday, July 21st. Participants who plan to attend the NLS must complete the following prerequisites prior to arriving at the Airlie Center: One page written leadership example to share at the NLS "Leadership in Action: Working Together Across NOAA" break out group exercise.

The Fitness Atlantic is held in Connecticut and draws contestants and attendees from New York to Boston.

The local Atlanta season runs from March thru September. The private club tournaments will be held on Mondays or Tuesdays, the day the clubs are closed. Acting upon the unanimous request of those attending the first Crones Counsel in 1993, yearly gatherings have been held at different locations in the west. Initially, groups of persons were invited to offer to host subsequent meetings. A vote was taken at each gathering to determine a schedule for moving the meeting throughout the west.
