If the table of contents marks a track as pre-emphasized, the corresponding inf file will have this information, too. That enables a cd burning program to retain the state of the track.

Before CDex 1.10 you can only encode WAV files, but not the other way around. There are several tools available which can do this job. Take a look at www.mp3.com and look for utilities like WinAmp or MaPlay.

MD5 checksums files are not exclusive to SHN files. An MD5 checksum can be used to ensure the accuracy of any data file (e.g. .doc, .mp3, .mpeg). Some seeders produce MD5 checksums for their WAV files, as well as for their SHN files. This is just an extra level of confirm to ensure exact copies of the original WAV files are being burned from the SHN files. Checking a WAV file with a MD5 cheksum is no different than checking a SHN file.

MetaSynth currently looks at the file 'type' rather than the file extension. AIFF files that originate on the Mac usually have the file type set correctly but files created on PCs usually don't. If you have a file type utility (such as File Typer or File Buddy), check to make sure that the file type is AIFF. If there is enough interest expressed to us, we will create a 'droplet' application that will set the type correctly.

You will need to use Zinf 2.1 to do this. In 2.1 you can select the WaveoutPMO output plugin in the plugins panel of the options dialog. Whenever you play an MP3 file with the WaveoutPMO, the decoded wav file will get written to your MyMusic directory.

One of the most easy ways to do that is to use WinAMP. The Plugin that writes WAV-files under WinAMP is called DiskWriterPlugin. When it is activated, the song you play back is not played back as sound - but written to the path on your Harddiskdrive (HDD) that you specified - as a WAV file. Leftclick onto the WinAMP surface.

I've never actually done it, but the program ra2wav, available from standard download sites, such as ZDNet (www.hotfiles.com) is supposed to be able to extract ".ra" audio data and the audio portion of ".rm" files to a WAV. RealJukeBox may be able to do this as well. Another program is Streambox Ripper, from www.streambox.com/products/Ripper/index.asp - this program converts Real Audio and Real Media to MP3 or WMA, and also rips from CDs, and decodes and encodes MP3.

If you have the 'full' version of Winamp it can play WMA files, and you can try writing to a WAV output file using the Nullsoft Disk Writer plugin... but sometimes it won't work - you get a message saying "Sorry, no .wav writing support for DRM enabled WRM streams". This figures, I guess. Winamp is basically playing by the rules set by Microsoft et al. There's no technical reason for not doing this... it's a "policy" thing.

There are many conversion programs out there that will take all your .wav files and convert them to mp3 quickly and easily. Our favorite program is Smart Wave Converter Or the free Mp3 recorder you receive with your membership can convert them for you.

Our software does not convert protected WMA files. To convert the WMA files, please make sure you may play it on your computer and the WMA file(s) are not copyright protected! And please make sure that the Windows Media Format codec is installed on your computer. If not, please download it from here and install it to your computer.

You can use the UniConvertor for converting CDR and some other formats to SVG. In Inkscape 0.46, there's an input extension that will allow you to open or import CDR files directly from Inkscape if you have UniConvertor installed on your system. Open CDR file Corel Draw. Save it as binary encoded CGM* file. It will save only vector graphics. It will not save bitmap graphics. Open CGM file in OpenOffice Impress. Copy to Open Office Draw and insert original JPG or another bitmap graphics.

While the Internet is a good source for MP3's, for many people, the primary source for their MP3 collection is from their existing music collections (audio files, CD's, and analog recordings). This is particularly true for audiophiles, who may have extensive collections of analog recordings which are no longer in print. Converting older media to digital is commonly done in order to preserve the recording, so that it can be enjoyed without risking damage to the record or tape.

To do this, open Windows Explorer and locate the Sculptor brain wave file folder. By default, these files should be located in the following folder: From Windows Explorer, double click on any of these files and you should hear a short 2 second sound file play. If you can’t hear this file, you will need to check you Windows audio equipment. Tip: An alternative to using the Sculptor 3 “Brain Wave” player, is to user a product distributed by BWGen.

Change the output preferences to Wave File (silent). In the newer versions of WinAMP, the output preferences is actually under the "Input" tab. lt;BGSOUND> is a tag specific to Microsoft Internet Explorer that plays a sound file as soon as the sound file is loaded. As the page is loaded, the accompanying sound file is also loaded. The page usually will finish loading first, but as soon as the sound file loads, it will begin to play. It is implemented quite simply. Upload a WAV file to your directory. If your directory is /ny/cars and you uploaded the sound file named bigburp.wav , simply insert: and bigburp.

If you download .wav files, download them directly to the c:\program files\iplaynet folder and no further steps are necessary. If you receive .wav files in ICQ, click the "Save As" button at the start of the file transfer, double click on C:, scroll down and double click on Program Files, and then click on IPlaynet.
