We encourage you to send .TIF files or native documents from Adobe Photoshop® (.psd). .JPEGs and .GIF files are also acceptable although there are certain limitations Please make sure your document is saved at the size you want it printed and that it has a resolution of 300 pixels per inch or greater.

Use the file format that is appropriate for the particular item to be filed. Consider how the file will be used and in what format the current data resides to determine the best format. Legal pleadings are viewed best in HTML (.htm) format or Rich Text Format (.rtf). Supporting documents/exhibits/attachments that have been scanned are best in .pdf Adobe Acrobat format. Argument files for use in court presentation are best as PowerPoint files (.ppt), HTML (.htm) or Rich Text Format (.rtf).

CMYK. CMYK colors are used for off-set printing purposes such as stationery printing. If you have specific colors in mind you can either let us know the CMYK values or provide us with a Pantone color code.

Colors should be in CMYK (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Black-ink colors that are used in digital printing).

Imaging systems should support black and white, grayscale and color images. Color files can be scanned with a color scanner or imported into an imaging system. There are a wide range of color scanners on the market. Many document imaging scanners support color and grayscale.

For photo senders, we prefer jpg images due to the compression to smaller files, bmps are uncompressed and much larger. However, we can accept and convert most any file type. We would like all individual files to be under 200k unless they should be considered for wallpaper, at which point they can be up to 1mb. Bundled photos submitted should be limited to 1.5 mb per email.

The data is saved using SQLite and is in that binary format. If you want external access to this data, we plan to export it as an XML file similar in format to the iTunes file but this has not been implemented yet.

PowerPoint® works best with tif or jpg images. PICT and EPS images from a Mac brought into a PC are a definite problem!

We require that your images be in JPEG format. Typically, this includes files with a .jpg or .jpe extension.

Shorten (extension .shn) is an audio compression scheme written by Tony Robinson of SoftSound that can compact wav files without subtracting out any frequencies. It's "lossless"- everything in the original wav is there, so that full quality is maintained. For many traders of live music, Shorten files (shns) therefore have an undisputed advantage over "lossy" mp3-format files.

The graphic file formats which are best for saving pictures for the Internet are GIF's (Graphic Interchange Format) and JPEG's (Joint Photographic Experts Group). GIF's and JPEG's are Web graphics standards; Web browsers are able to translate them so you can view them. While we recommend Group 4 TIFF's as they are widely supported, extremely small in size, and easily multi-paged into a single file, you may choose from nearly any file format including JPG, GIF and PDF in either black and white or full color applications. Feel free to ask if we support your special file format.

MP3 (Standard MPEG 1 Layer-3) is the encoding format we accept. Do not upload any other format (this includes MP3Pro of course) as your song won't be approved then.

If you are scanning the images yourself from photographs it is better to save them in either tif, or eps format. These image formats will preserve the color and sharpness of your pictures the best. However, we will accept jpg or jpeg if it is at least 300dpi. File formats like gif or jpg compress the pictures color and pixel resolution and may not maintain the true color of the image.

The logos are offered in three file formats: EPS, TIFF and GIF. Each format is made for different situations. Use the EPS format of the logos whenever possible, especially for offset printing. The TIFF format is for applications that do not work well with EPS files, like Microsoft Word and PowerPoint. The GIF format is for Web-based and interactive applications. The TIFF and GIF files are low-resolution raster artwork and should not be enlarged.

Yes. Some of our brides prefer color images only while others prefer black & white images only. However the majority of our brides desire a mix of both color and black & white images for their wedding albums. We will consult with you as to your preference and photograph your wedding accordingly.

First off, I always use b&w film. After I make a b&w print, I hand-color the print with Marshall Photo Oils. The color has a softer quality. Some photos that are on the site have color added in Adobe Photoshop.

No. We are very meticulous when photographing the specimens. The specimens must match the photograph or we don't upload them to the site. We may, however use Adobe Photoshop® to adust to the levels of the photograph to maintain a balance between the specimen and it's background. Keep in mind that not all monitors are created equal, so some minor color variations may occur. Our goal is to provide the most accurate representation of the specimen possible.

Yes, we will give you black & white photographs along with the color, if you want. There is no additional charge for black and white images or sepia images. Once we know what your particular request is we determine the ratio of color verses black and white on an individual basis.
