VAG-COM uses these to record a lot of the data being exchanged between the car and your PC. Having these can be very useful if there is some sort of unexpected problem communicating with a controller in your car. You can delete these at any time, but they will keep coming back. The will not consume much space on your computer because VAG-COM overwrites them every time you start a new session with your PC. If you're having a problem, I may ask you to send me a specific Debug file.

When Soupermail's not installing correctly, a good way to find out what's happening is to generate a Soupermail debug file. Sometimes the single click interactor might seem to steal the double clicks. The default start character for interactors is ANY_LEFT_DOWN which gets both single and double clicks. Therefore, the default interactors will operate on both single and double clicks. If you want an interactor to ONLY work on single click, then change its Am_START_WHEN slot to be "LEFT_DOWN" or equivalent, and then the double click interactor's Am_START_WHEN would be "DOUBLE_LEFT_DOWN" or equivalent.

Let's assume you want to maintain a detailed DEBUG output in a file and only messages of level ERROR and higher should be printed on the screen. The best way to debug MultiNet is to use a Windows kernel debugger, such as Windbg. The code has DBGPRINT statements, with different verbosity level of debug messages to be printed. As far as possible you should avoid debugging JSP by keeping script elements as simple as possible and use tag libraries for more complex processing. Ideally, JSP should be written so that non-programmers can write and edit the contents, so should not contain complex programming structures that are prone to bugs. Tag libraries move complex program components to standard Java classes, which can be tested and debugged outside of the servlet container.

When debugging UBI you don't have to use a real embedded platform and real flash. You may use a PC with an MTD device emulator and run UBI on top of this emulated MTD device. Rejection of requests due to the configured ACLs is logged at the INFO level. Make sure you either log all messages at the INFO level, or alteratively at least for messages 3551 and 3553. If you also want to see why requests are accepted, also enable log messages 3550 and 3552, which are at the DEBUG level.

Absolutely. When you playback a recording, the software will be running. You can playback recordings from the debugger, or attach a debugger to a playback already in progress. All of your symbols will be valid in the debugger. You can set breakpoints, single-step through code, and inspect data. Your software is running just as it did when you recorded it.

When using GDB with dynamically loaded extensions, you can't set a breakpoint in your extension until your extension is loaded. More site specific. gdb is the command line debugger for C and C++ programs, and you might have ddd, which is a gui-interface for this. Read the banners and h is for help. The Java IDE should support debugging, otherwise think about print statements.

Two ways, either by using the mfcembed.dsp project file, or from a blank project in DevStudio. Obviously both are only useful if mfcembed & Gecko have been built with debugging enabled.
