RITUXAN® (Rituximab) in combination with methotrexate is indicated to reduce signs and symptoms in adult patients with moderately- to severely- active rheumatoid arthritis who have had an inadequate response to one or more TNF antagonist therapies.

Rituxan is given as an intravenous (IV) infusion, along with methotrexate. One course of treatment requires 2 separate IV infusions given 2 weeks apart. Each infusion will be given by a healthcare professional at your doctor's office, an infusion center, or a hospital. Before each infusion, you may be given additional medicine, including glucocorticoids, to reduce possible side effects.

Rituxan works by selectively reducing specific B-cells in the blood. B-cells—a type of white blood cell found in the immune system—usually help the body fight infection and play an important role in diseases such as RA. Because Rituxan reduces B-cells, it may increase your risk of infection.

If you have had hepatitis B or are a carrier of hepatitis B virus. Your doctor should check you closely for signs of a hepatitis infection during treatment with Rituxan and for several months after treatment ends

Rituxan can increase your risk of infection. Seek immediate medical attention if you experience a persistent cough, fever, chills, congestion, or any flu-like symptoms during or after treatment with Rituxan. These symptoms may be signs of a serious infection.

There is no cure for RA. Rituxan is the only treatment that can reduce RA signs and symptoms through 6 months after 1 course of treatment (2 infusions).

Serious side effects, some of which could be life threatening, have occurred during and after treatment with Rituxan. Seek immediate medical attention if you experience any of the following: Infusion reactions, including hives, swelling, dizziness, blurred vision, drowsiness, headache, cough, wheezing, and breathing difficulties Kidney problems, including Tumor Lysis Syndrome (TLS), which is caused by the fast breakdown of certain blood cancers.

The smallpox vaccine is not given with a hypodermic needle. It is not a “shot,” like many vaccinations. The vaccine is given using a bifurcated (two-pronged) needle that is dipped into the vaccine solution. When removed, the needle retains a droplet of the vaccine. The needle is then used to quickly prick the skin several times for a few seconds. The pricking is not deep, but it will cause a sore spot and one or two drops of blood to form. The vaccine usually is given in the upper arm.

No. This is a painless non-invasive procedure. Electrodes will be applied to the scalp using a conductive gel and gauze. Sensors attached to the face, torso and legs will be secured using adhesive tape and tabs.

Chemotherapy is usually given on an outpatient basis. The medication is administered through a vein in your arm. A specially trained nurse remains with you at all times while your chemotherapy is infusing. You may receive other medications before and during your chemotherapy which are designed to minimize and relieve side effects. There are several chemotherapy medications that work to kill lung cancer and often a combination of two of these medications is prescribed.

A simple acute problem, such as a muscle sprain, may require only one treatment, whereas more severe or chronic ailments may need a dozen treatments. When multiple treatments are necessary, they usually begin intensively. Patients often start with 1-3 treatments per week for 4-6 weeks. A positive response is usually seen after the first to third treatment. Once a maximum positive response is achieved treatments are usually tapered off.

Frequent oral exams are given in most classes, and written mid-term and final examinations are given in all courses. Students who don't pass a final exam on the first try are given two more weeks to study and get additional tutoring, and then can retake the exam. (This second try is called the "extraordinario.") XOLAIR is given through subcutaneous injection, which means it is injected just under the skin. XOLAIR should always be injected in a doctor's office.

You will receive XOLAIR once every 2 or 4 weeks. Your dose will be determined by your IgE level, which your doctor will measure with a simple blood test, and your body weight. Based on your dose, your doctor will also tell you if you will need 1, 2, or 3 injections per dose. If you need more than 1 injection, each will be given in a different place on your body.

Once your test is processed, you can call in to find out your test result. You retrieve your results by calling the toll-free number included in your test kit. If you are transferred to a counselor, there is no reason to panic, this does not automatically mean that you have tested positive.

Signals are given by the system as soon as it decides to open a new position or exit the current one. Those positions taken by the system are only assumed on the beginning of each hour.
