You are correct. GradeQuick does keep a back-up copy of each gradebook on the network. If your original gradebook gets lost (or corrupted), you can often recover all your grades by opening up the back-up copy of the same gradebook. (This doesn't always work. It's about 90% successful, though.) Here's how you do that: the bottom of the window that opens, there's a box named "Files of type." Pull down the little arrow to the right of that box and select All Files.

The first two screens of the help are designed to make sure you know how to control the program by clicking on the flag icon (in the taskbar, next to your clock).
