Netopia does not support having both Timbuktu Pro and PC Anywhere installed on the same machine, nor do we recommend attempting to have both applications installed. Netopia strongly recommends that PC Anywhere be completely uninstalled from any machine prior to installing Timbuktu Pro. Timbuktu Pro will abort the installation if it finds PC Anywhere installed.

Generally users get a Blue Screen after rebooting an NT PC due to incomplete installation or conflicts with the video driver or another gina.dll file. Please see Technote TPWN_007 for instructions on updating or editing the Registry entries for video drivers and gina.dll files. The Timbuktu Pro for Windows 1.5.x has no known issues with the year 2000 and can be installed on Windows 3.x, Windows 95, and Windows NT machines. Since Timbuktu Pro is a set of services that runs on top of the protocol layer, it is fully compatible with any third party LAN based encryption schemes (Virtual Private Networks) or connection protocols such as PPTP.
