ScummVM is an emulator that will play many old adventure games on a range of modern platforms. Strangely enough, yes there is a project in the works that will allow you to do just that. Jeff Freedman's Exult project is not yet complete, but it already has all of the functions of Ultima 7 working, and has included both new features and some of the engine enhancements from SI. It is a cross-platform program with ports for Linux, and Windows with versions for BeOS and the Mac also in development. It also needs the original game in order to work.

Or by typing "src/glob2" if you did not installed it (only compiled it) Anyway, it will not always work, so it is suggested that you type "glob2 --help" and read about command lines arguments. I have a 660MHz CPU, with 6MB of video memory, and I can't even reach the optimal speed of the game with 32 bits color (I have to switch to 16 bits when playing), but Tucows' team who tested the game, put a 200MHz CPU minimum requirement on their site.
