The University Library shelves current journals separately in the current periodicals section of each library. Older volumes of journals are bound and shelved in the stacks of each library by call number. Current periodicals are on the second (main) floor of the Science & Engineering Library. Current periodicals are on the first floor (bottom floor) in McHenry Library. The call numbers for all journals can be found in CRUZCAT. Search for the journal by title.

Journals are bound during the summer months and during January Intersession. Materials are out of the building for 5-6 weeks. Check the Online Catalog under "Serials title" to check for a title that is at the bindery. If not listed there, check at the Circulation Desk, or Serials Department.

If you are a student in good standing, you may use the Inter Library Loan (ILL) service. Obtain the form from the librarian at the Reference Desk and complete the specific information about the item you need. Once the form is submitted, the library staff member will look for item at member libraries. If the material is located, you will be contacted as to when the material is available for pick at the library.

In most of the OSU libraries, the journals are interfiled with the books. Log into the Catalog and do a title search on the name of the journal. To find the call number and library which owns a subscription to the journal you want. These journals are filed in the stacks just like a book. If you are looking for a current issue of the journal (usually less than a year old), most of our libraries keep these in a current periodical area.

The "list" is the McGill University Library Catalogue (MUSE). Check the Catalogue to determine if the journal you need is held at the Life Sciences Library, Osler Library, or at another McGill library.
