David Addison was born on April 9, 1955, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He was named after his father, David Addison Sr., ("The Son Also Rises"), and has one older brother, Richard, whom he hadn't seen in years and called him, "mom and dad's science project", ("Brother, Can You Spare a Blond"). His mother is deceased and his father later remarried a woman David slept with years ago (but she doesn't remember him). Interesting enough, she "won" him by playing a game of pool.

The Addison Singers is a registered charity (Addison Group of Singers) No 286808. An Executive Committee, elected from its membership annually at the AGM in October, manages the Addison Singers. It is run by the members for the members.
