Shasta-Trinity National Forest - Frequently Asked QuestionsCampfire permits can be obtained at any Forest Service, Bureau of Land Management, or California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CDF) Office. They can also be obtained from most Forest Service field personnel. Please read the permit information page for additional information. Is there a cost? No, there is no cost for the campfire permit. Permit holders must comply with all terms of the campfire permit, including having a shovel available.

Tahoe National Forest - Frequently Asked QuestionsCampfire permits are free permits that serve as reminders of how to have a safe and legal fire, bar-b-que, or gas stove, and are required to have these types of fires on national forest lands. They're not date or location-specific, so you can pick one up at the beginning of the season and use it all year.
