In the past, Las Positas College web pages have been updated using Macromedia Dreamweaver. This is an incredibly powerful, professional tool that can do many advanced tasks, and can be overwhelming to non-technical users. It’s like driving a Hummer to buy a gallon of milk at the corner store. To simplify the process, Las Positas plans to introduce a new web content management program called Macromedia Contribute.

Actually, the server doesn't show your old pages. The problem is that when you connect to one and the same URL, for example, http://localhost/, your web browser saves it and next time you request this url, it loads the web page from its existing cache, thus the request to the server doesn't occur. To prevent it, either disable the caching in your web browser, or refresh the page every time you see old results ([F5] in most browsers).

With the recent advances in SVG support in web browsers (such as Firefox or Opera), using SVG directly on the web becomes more of a possibility. To make your website files available at http://www.yourdomain.com, you need to put them in your assigned directory which will be given to you once you are signed up. The file that will be the default page shown when someone goes to just your domain name, or just to a directory, must be named index.html. Our normal practice is to update the Test ratings after each Test match (usually within 12 hours) and ODI ratings at the end of each ODI series. We try not to publish Test ratings if another Test match is currently in progress. However, if there are lots of overlapping Test matches running into each other we try to be more flexible so that the Ratings on the website don't get too out of date.

Desktop Weather gets its information from Weather.com. The "Current Conditions" and severe weather alerts are updated every 5 minutes and the forecast is updated every 60 minutes. If you mouse over the weather icon right underneath the current temperature, text will appear indicating the last time that "Current Conditions" were updated.

The site's home page is updated throughout the day, beginning at 12:00 a.m. (Pacific Time), when the day's stories from The Oregonian are published. The Oregonian also maintains a news updates weblog 24/7 which loads into the homepage under "Local Updates." The homepage also changes throughout the day to reflect different features, topics and breaking news. Our 24/7 Associated Press and Sports Network feeds constantly update with the latest breaking news.

Most of the documents in THOMAS originate in the House and Senate, which in turn transmit them to the Government Printing Office (GPO) for printing and further electronic processing. GPO then transmits them to the Library of Congress, which performs some further processing before making them available on THOMAS. The Congressional Record is processed most rapidly. GPO processes a day's proceedings from the Senate and House overnight and usually transmits them to THOMAS by 9 a.m.
