Through its responsive grantmaking, The Colorado Health Foundation provides three types of grants that advance The Foundation’s goals: The Foundation supports projects, which are a specific set of coordinated activities carried out over a defined time period to achieve measurable results. Priority is given to projects that have well-defined project goals and outcomes, that include an evaluation, and that are based on what is known to be effective.

When The Colorado Health Foundation receives a proposal, it is assigned to one of our program officers for review.

Generally, The Colorado Health Foundation makes grants to organizations classified as tax-exempt under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. New or emerging organizations without 501(c)(3) status are permitted to apply through a tax-exempt organization acting as fiscal sponsor. Other types of organizations, such as government agencies and social welfare organizations, are encouraged to contact The Foundation for questions regarding eligibility.

The Foundation's grantmaking is focused on three areas: education, advocacy and activism. The Foundation's support is primarily distributed to cornerstone organizations for core operating support, although some support is project-specific or capacity building focused.

AHAF supports U.S. domestic and international research proposals related to developing treatments, preventions, and cures for glaucoma, macular degeneration, and Alzheimer's disease. Funds awarded are to be used solely for research. AHAF does not fund institutional overhead, large capital equipment, or construction of buildings. AHAF prefers not to fund the salary of the Principal Investigator. If salary for the P.I. is requested, it must be clearly and thoroughly justified.

The Colorado Health Foundation began in 1995 as HealthONE Alliance, a nonprofit established when the HealthONE hospital system entered into a Joint Venture with HCA-HealthONE. HCA and The Colorado Health Foundation share in the overall governance of the Joint Venture which now owns seven Colorado hospitals. The Colorado Health Foundation awards grants to organizations that support our mission, share our goals, and whose proposals are focused on one of the three strategies outlined below. Our strategy is to influence health policy by developing informed and engaged leaders; by convening stakeholders to further a common agenda; by strengthening advocacy organizations; and by informing the public about health policy issues.

The Foundation sponsors volunteer support groups all over the world as well as telephone support contacts. These groups offer people with alopecia areata a chance to share feelings, experiences, and solutions to coping with the disease. Each group has a leader who has alopecia areata or is closely associated with someone who does. Support groups further the Foundation's goal of research, emotional support, and public awareness.

ATC has a physician and other community specialists experienced with Autism spectrum disorder routinely on site. RN's provide medical care 24 hours a day. Additional community physicians and specialists are used as needed. ATC has agreements with local hospitals to provided emergency treatment as needed.

ACF funds programs in the areas of: arts and culture, children and youth, education, health, human services and environmental and historic preservation. We refer to these areas as “fields-of-interest.”

Gap Foundation makes significant contributions through strategic partnerships with select community organizations in San Francisco, New York, Chicago, and headquarters locations in Canada and the U.K. In the developing world, we achieve a long-term, meaningful impact by supporting organizations in our vendor communities.

The ICT Helpdesk will troubleshoot and resolve where possible, any suspected faults with installed products. The CLP provides pre-sales marketing and technical product/solution information. Services are unique to each region however some of the member services include access to the "Consultant Community" site for access to the technical library, product bulletins, pricing, local engineering support, product briefings and a single point of contact along with email notifications related to Nortel news, seminars, industry events and specific events for consultants.

The BLP network creates opportunities to collaborate with other institutions and consortiums to share training ideas and resources and to participate in joint service projects, fundraising initiatives and peer exchanges. Campuses participating in the Bonner Leader Program have access to the training materials and resources provided by the Bonner Foundation.

All of The Resource Foundation's member agencies in Latin America collaborate with low-income communities to implement high impact self-reliance building activities that increase the participants' standard of living. Program activities focus on: basic education and job-skills training for children and youth, microenterprise support including credit, low-cost housing, primary health care, sustainable agriculture and environmental conservation.

A grant management workshop is held each summer for newly funded Principal Investigators (PI) and their Project Directors. The workshop is designed to provide education on the regulations and requirements, as well as practical information on managing your grant from current and former investigators. In addition, the TSNRP staff provides assistance with grant management, and handles issues about human subject protection, animal welfare, programmatic management, and financial monitoring.

The Grants Online hardware is physically located at the NOAA Information Technology Center (ITC) in Largo, Maryland. The ITC also houses approximately 38 other NOAA-wide administrative and financial systems including CBS. The ITC has a generator in addition to battery backup to provide more robust failover capability in the event of a power outage.

ZapfDingbats TrueType fonts can be configured to be substituted with one of the supported fonts or printed as graphics. To configure the TrueType font substitution: TrueType fonts that use the symbol character set such as "Wingdings" are automatically printed as graphics. Printing fonts as graphics can significantly increase the size of the PDF file, so this feature should be used with care. Downloadable Type 1 Postscript fonts are not currently supported. The district provides nurses in each of our buildings. The nurses are available for a wide variety of health needs (e.g. injuries at school, administration of medication, formulation of health plans). Parents should contact the school nurse if their child has special health needs.

Health Services routinely stocks and administers vaccine to prevent tetanus, meningococcal meningitis, hepatitis A and hepatitis B, and influenza.
