You can click on the MRRL Catalog link, then click on "view your record" to get to your account information. You will be asked for your library card number and a PIN. You can create your PIN in the system the first time you log into your account.

The library catalog can be accessed by clicking the Library Catalog link located in the left menu on each page of the Library's Web site or entering http://voyager.pgcc.edu/ in the address box.

Once inside the online catalog, click on the My Account tab. Enter all digits of your library bar code without spaces. Then enter your pin number assigned to you by the Library. Recently we have been working with some libraries to help their low vision patrons get access to library services using PnC Net. Today most libraries have great web sites that provide access to tons of information about almost anything. Lots of information is available without a library card, but usually you need a library card to access the card catalog, reserve and check out books. Often you can get the information you need without going to the library.

The Library is currently not able to offer TELNET access to a text-only version of the LC Online Catalog. An alternative interface is available using the Library's Z39.50 Gateway. This interface works well with text-based browsers, such as Lynx. To learn more about the Z39.50 protocol for information retrieval, visit the Z39.50 Maintenance Agency Page. The Library is aware of the need for text-based access to the Online Catalog to satisfy the needs of its offsite users.

Yes, the library has Internet access. There are small reference area with computers. The electronic resources of the library are to be used from the computer labs in the university, library or the residence halls.

Wireless access is available in most parts of the Architecture, Education, Health Sciences, Holland and Terrell, and Owen Science and Engineering Library. Wireless access is not currently available in the Fischer Agricultural Sciences Library, though it is expected in the near future. Holland and Terrell Libraries have eleven outlets for Internet access.

Yes. Anyone with a laptop/PDA can connect to the Internet using the library's wireless connection if it is equipped with a wireless card. You can also connect to the Internet using a wired campus network port. There are about 10 wired ports throughout the library.<

Anyone can get to the MC Library online catalog, WebVoyage, both on and off campus; students can also access all of MC Library databases from off campus by authentication. The interlibrary loan ( ILL) system can be accessed from off campus. This is a network of institutions in the world (mostly the U.S. and Canada) that shares materials with each other upon request. There is also an e-mail reference called Talk to a Librarian if students have a question or need assistance.

Not at all. The WWW interface to our catalog, called WebCat, can be used intuitively. Just point-and-click on the icons or written options you want to choose. We usually recommand to try the STANDARD SEARCHING mode, since it will search all parts of all records for the search terms you have entered. Search terms can be truncated by $ (the dollar sign) and combined by using the Boolean operators AND, OR or NOT.

We have three computers with word processing capabilities. Upstairs is the Friends computer (purchased by the Friends of the Library). It has Microsoft Office, WordPerfect, along with resume-building software and an attached printer ($.10 per page). This computer can be reserved but is also available on a drop-in basis. Downstairs in Youth Services there are two Homework Stations available on a drop-in basis, first come, first served, with priority given to students.

If your laptop is equipped with a properly installed wireless network interface card or a network interface card, you can access the Internet with your laptop in the Library. More detailed information is available from the Library Information Series #11. Wireless access is available on all floors of the Library.
