No. In the interest of keeping the integrity of communication, you are not able to remove posts. However, you may sometimes create posts that should be removed, for example, if your browser hiccups and you create multiple, identical posts, or you post a corrupted file that you don't want other people to open. If this occurs, click the Contact us button to send email to the Kiva administrators. Please be specific about which Kiva, which thread, and which post should be deleted.

Topics are separate conferences within Discussions. They can be public (available to all class members) or private (available to an instructor-selected group of class members). If you have access to a private topic, you will see it listed. (It will be clearly marked as private.) To access a specific topic, click on the hyperlinked topic title. To determine what topic you are currently in, check the first text line of the top frame. It should read "Discussion Messages: Topic Name".

The list does range off-topic on a regular basis. Discussions about history, other science fiction/fantasy works, technological advances, and the Joss Whedonverse often come up. You might want to switch to reading the list on the web if your inbox is getting too inundated with messages, or switch to the digest format. You can do this at the list homepage on Yahoo.

When you reply to a discussion post, or compose a new post, WebCT opens a new window and leaves the message list open in the background. After you send your post, WebCT does not automatically update the list. You have to do this yourself to see the message you posted, as well as any new messages that have arrived since you first opened the list. To update the list, simply select the Update listing button.
