The distance from the Munich airport to Hotel Uhland (and the center of town) is about 40 kilometers. The time you need depend on the traffic and takes at least 50 minutes. From the airport use highway A 92 and A 9 to "München". Exit: M-Schwabing" (on the end of the highway). Follow the signs for Mittlerer Ring West into Petueltunnel. Leave the tunnel at exit Milbertshofen, cross the first street and go left at the second street into Schleißheimer Strasse until it ends.

Coming from Salzburg, change at "Autobahnkreuz München Süd" (street cross) to Autobahn Garmisch, direction into Munich. When the Autobahn ends, stay straight ahead until you crossed the river "Isar" and than follow signs for ?Stadtmitte" or ?Zentrum". This will bring you on to Lindwurmstrasse. After a short while, please turn left into Herzog-Heinrich-Strasse.

Take the bus number 64 from directly in front of the Train Station and after about 15 minutes you should be on the Corso Vittorio Emanuele II, get off at the McDonalds (the bus stop is directly outside). Stay on this side of the road and keep walking until you get to a small square called Piazza S. Pantaleo, turn into the square and take the second right - Via D.S. Pantaleo.

The Tory House (circa 1698), which faces the town common, has been used as a public house for travelers as well as a station on the Underground Railroad. The famous slaves, William and Ellen Crafts, were sheltered here on their way north.

the end of the highway go straight ahead (street name is changing several times, into: Verdistrasse, Amalienburgstrasse, Menzingerstrasse until Arnulfstrasse). From Menzingerstrasse you see the streetcar tracks on your left. Follow the tracks until the street goes a little bit down hill (this happens in Arnulfstrasse). At the next traffic light you see a tunnel on the right. Turn right into the tunnel.

The best way to reach the hotel from any of these three stations, all of which are located on Komsomolskaya Ploshchad, is by metro. From Komsomolskaya, take the circle line (Koltsevaya Liniya, colored brown on the metro map) to Prospekt Mira, then the hotel is a 10-minute walk away.
