Since a Community College is a two-year institute, we only accept 60 credits. These correspond to the credit for the first two years of course work. All of your courses have been accepted, but they only count as 60 credits. This means that you will need to earn at least 60 credits at FIU. In most cases, you will actually need more than 60 credits at FIU to complete your degree.

We strongly recommend that you confirm with your academic advisor at your home institution that you will receive credit for a course taken outside of your college or university. Before granting permission, some schools require course descriptions or syllabi of the courses to be transferred, which you can obtain by contacting our office at 718-817-4665. To have your credits transfer, request that a transcript be sent to your school from Fordham University’s Office of Academic records.

Classes taken at a community college will be evaluated on a course-by-course basis. Generally, courses that are academic in nature, over the 100-level (Math 095 accepted) and a “C” grade or higher, will transfer for some type of credit.

To receive a BSDH, ETSU requires that you complete 60 semester hours from a four year institution. The required dental hygiene courses total 34 semester hours. If all of your transfer courses are from a two year institution you will need an additional 26 hours from a four year institution to receive your degree. Yes. You can transfer up to 64 credit hours (up to 75 hours if you are enrolled in the ASU/MCCD Alliance Program) from an approved community college in the United States. When transferring from a 2 yr community college, we will transfer in as many credits that have comparable KU courses. However, only 64 credits maximum can be used toward a degree program. The coursework taken at other accredited community colleges and colleges/universities will be evaluated once a transcript is received.
