Contrary to popular belief MSG Bn has accepted Marines with much less than one year on station. Any requirement regarding time on station can be waived. However, MOS monitors usually prefer Marines to be on station for at least one year prior to going to MSG duty. If you are short of one year on station, proceed to complete and submit your package. By the time you receive orders and report to MSG School, you will most likely have one year on station.

In fact, Marines who complete MSG School and still hold the rank of PFC will be automatically meritoriously promoted to the rank of Lcpl. MSG Bn no longer accepts Marines above the rank of GySgt. I wish that read, "Unfortunately, there is no minimum rank requirement." Or better yet, "There is a minimum AGE requirement". Like, you know, 25.

It is the parent command's responsibility to ensure the investigation is opened and reflected as such in JPAS. Marines should hand carry a completed hard copy of their SSBI a well as an electronic copy, ESPQ, on a floppy disk. Additionally, two finger print cards are required. We submit the SSBI's here.
