The tunnel will be sealed as well as possible so that groundwater loss will not result in wells drying up. During construction there may be situations in which a particular well may run dry temporarily. The level of water in wells directly above or near the tunnel may be lowered permanently. If a well runs dry, the project is prepared to supply water temporarily. If a well runs dry permanently, compensation will be provided.

Texas is the nation’s number one oil and gas producer with more than 216,000 active oil and gas wells statewide. Injection and saltwater disposal wells are also located statewide to safely dispose of the produced water and frac fluid from these oil and gas wells. Texas has more than 50,000 permitted oil and gas injection and disposal wells.

The Railroad Commission inspects commercial disposal wells (wells that take produced water from various operators for a fee) once a year, while non-commercial injection wells (wells drilled by one operator to dispose of produced water from their own oil or gas production) are inspected at least once every five years. There is no "schedule" for non-commercial disposal or injection well inspections.

To extract water from the aquifers we need to penetrate the water-table. Wells that extract water from the confined aquifers should break through the confining bed of soil. Penetration to the confining layer causes hydrostatic pressure to push water above the confined layer and fills the well.

Yes. Wells are allowed inside the city limits as long as the owner obtains an annual permit from the Lincoln/Lancaster County Health Department and the well meets city standards. Even if a city water main is available and adjacent to the property, the homeowner is not required to connect to the city water service. If a property owner chooses to hook up to city water, they could maintain their well for purposes of watering their lawn, etc.

Wood is always trying to come into equilibrium with the air surrounding it, so its moisture content can change somewhat after it's been dried.

Oral dryness can be the result of insufficient production of saliva. More often, we find that the dry and pasty feeling described by our clients is a response of the tongue and tissues of the mouth to an increased VSC production. Once the oral bacteria are reduced and their by-products eliminated, the sensation disappears and there is no longer a complaint of oral dryness.

My method is to put the tobacco in a large, clean bowl, and cover the bowl with a damp towel. The towel should not touch the tobacco. Check the tobacco every couple hours, and when it reaches the moisture level you like, store it in an airtight container. Glass "bail top" jars work well, but be sure to clean them thoroughly. (See the next item on mold.) Different tobaccos take up moisture at different rates.

Dry AMD occurs when the light-sensitive cells in the macula slowly break down, gradually blurring central vision in the affected eye. As dry AMD gets worse, you may see a blurred spot in the center of your vision. Over time, as less of the macula functions, central vision is gradually lost in the affected eye. The most common symptom of dry AMD is slightly blurred vision. You may have difficulty recognizing faces. You may need more light for reading and other tasks.

Bentonite is allowed as an additive to cement-based sealing materials at a ratio of up to 6% by weight of cement used, or as a foundation or transition seal. Oil and gas reservoirs are usually found in porous rocks, which also contain saltwater. This saltwater, which accompanies the oil and gas to the surface, can be disposed in two ways: 1) Returned by fluid injection into the reservoir where it originated for secondary or enhanced oil recovery; or 2) Injected into underground porous rock formations not productive of oil or gas, and sealed above and below by unbroken, impermeable strata.

The overwhelming majority of injected fluid is oilfield brine, which is also called produced water. Oilfield brine is the salt water that is in the same geologic formations that produce oil and gas. This produced water comes up simultaneously with the production of oil and gas. However, small quantities of substances used in the drilling, completion and production operations of a well may be mixed in the waste stream.

The purpose of Railroad Commission’s Underground Injection Control Program’s permitting process, well monitoring process and field inspections is to prevent pollution. Proper well completion, injection procedures and monitoring ensures that fresh water sources are not impacted by saltwater.

The database includes Notices of Intent to Drill (NOI) (55-500000's), Registrations of Existing Wells (55-600000's and 55-800000's) and existing wells that are Registered to be Abandoned (55-400000's). The 55-500000's are wells that have been applied for or have been drilled after 1980. A Driller's Report is submitted when the well is drilled. A Completion Report is submitted when a pump is installed. The file will include changes to the well and well ownership changes.
