There's a big empty gap on my page before my content. How do I fix it?

Faculty of Arts - University of British Columbia
Internet Explorer for PC has a bug that, when it finds content that is too wide for the Arts website content area, forces it to appear further down the page. You probably have a table or an image that is wider than your screen will display. Fixing this will depend on what element of your page is too wide. If you have set your table to an absolute width (such as 700 pixels), try removing the width setting so that the browser can calculate the table width on its own.

A bridge—a device used to replace missing teeth—attaches artificial teeth to adjacent natural teeth, called abutment teeth. Bridges can be applied either permanently (fixed bridges), or they can be removable. Fixed bridges are applied by either placing crowns on the abutment teeth—to provide support for artificial teeth—or by bonding the artificial teeth directly to the abutment teeth.

Q: How can I fix the hardbox around houses and other big objects?

D-Mod Author's FAQ Revision 1.3
A: You'll notice that the hardbox around things like houses just doesn't do the job. Hardboxes have to be rectangular, and things like houses are too complex for this to work. There are at least three methods to "fill in" the hardness around a house. It's probably best to set its hardness type to 1 (not hard) and totally draw the hardness yourself as explained below. I use a combination of the first two usually.

Where can I buy a big magnifier that will enlarge a whole page at a time?

MN State Services for the Blind: Frequently Asked Questions
Although this is what many people would like, there really is no such thing. Whole page magnifiers tend to be less than 2X magnification, and often present a blurry image. Unfortunately, the stronger a magnifier is, the smaller it is. What’s the reading machine I see other people using? (My friend calls it her “eye machine.”) This is a closed circuit TV (CCTV) reading system, which magnifies using a powerful camera lens.

How big should the air gap be in a cavity wall?

RMMI | FAQs
The size of the air gap is measured from the back side of the brick to the facing edge of the sheathing or structural wall behind the veneer. If your wall has a big air gap, the ties that anchor the veneer in place tend to buckle when the wind pushes the exposed veneer with a lateral load. You can tolerate a wider air gap if you use stronger brick ties. You can also simply put in more brick ties or you can make the air gap smaller.

There is a "gap" in the medical care teenagers with cancer are receiving, because sometimes adolescents with cancer are cared for by physicians who usually treat adults with cancer. Teens usually have a better chance of survival if they were treated by specialists in childhood cancer. Teenagers like to think of themselves as adults, not children, but the one time they need to be treated like children is when they have cancer and are choosing a physician to treat them.
