Occupational therapy boards and other organizations also offer continuing education credits for completing Yoga Calm training.

Yes. Our general membership meetings usually include a speaker. CEU's are usually provided at minimal or no cost to members. If you are collecting hours toward licensure, the CEU certificate can be counted toward your training or workshop hours.

Longer answer. The Yoga body of teachings includes numerous methods all called Yogas. These many Yogas are traditionally classified under four headings which are called the four paths of Yoga. These four paths are Jnana (the Yoga of knowledge or wisdom); Bhakti (the path of devotion); Karma (the path of action); and Raja (the Yoga of self control).

The best way to describe the style of yoga I teach is eclectic Hatha with a strong emphasis on the breath. It's fun and wonderful to be able to contort your body into different positions but its just contortions without the power, magic and prana (life force) of the breath. It is an HONOR for me to be a yoga instructor. I believe it is my job to guide and assist a student and not dictate. You are your own best teacher. You have lived and used your body your entire life.

Viniyoga is the name given to the style we teach and practice. It is Hatha Yoga synchronizing Breath, Movement, and Mind resulting in a healthier body along with a perceptual shift of our life and world. The name indicates that what is taught to the student is relevant at that time in his/her life. Viniyoga assumes proper application at the proper time at the proper level (respecting a persons condition,) and that means anyone can do it.

Yoga Works offers classes in its own style, Zen Yoga flow, as well as in other discreet systems such as Iyengar, Ashtanga, Viniyoga, Anusara and ISHTA. What these styles have in common is a shared history in the "Hatha"-or physical-yoga tradition. They all blend physical exercises-or asanas-with breathing and meditation techniques to promote a sense of physical well-being and mental clarity.

Continuing education became mandatory January 1, 1995. Every year, dentists must complete 15 hours and hygienists must complete 6 hours. Yes, most of our courses can be taken separately. We also offer advanced training in addition to our regular curriculum. Elective courses in advanced techniques are offered to students, graduates and other health practitioners who wish to broaden their education. Our school’s faculty and guest instructors teach a number of courses which vary in length and cost. Fees usually average $14 per hour of instruction for Continuing Education.

Yes, Berklee College of Music grants CEUs for Berkleemusic online music courses. Please check the course enrollment page for the number of CEUs offered for each course. Upon successful completion of the course, your CEUs will be registered with the American Council on Education (ACE). Once ACE receives notification of your Berkleemusic course CEUs, they will send a confirmation letter to the address on file.
