In the event that you have to pick your child up early, we must be notified in advance of your arrival. Early departures must take place before 3:00PM. Please Note: Early departures and late arrivals are disruptive to your child's experience. We recommend that you limit them as much as possible.

A note given to the camp director that morning telling the time your child will be picked up and by who should be written..

on a regular school day the latest you can pick up your child is 3:00 P.M. and on early release days the latest pick up time is 1:00 P.M..]

If you know you will need to get your camper early, please let the camp division leader or camp director know. We will make sure we have your camper ready to go in Worsham Arena when you need them picked up. If it is an emergency or an unexpected early pick up, just come into Worsham Arena and one of the camp directors or counselors will assist you in signing your child out and getting them from their immediate activity.

All visitors to campus MUST report to the office when entering school grounds. DO NOT PROCEED DIRECTLY TO THE CLASSROOM. No student will be excused from class for early dismissal after 1:30 p.m. Please help us to protect instructional time by NOT signing your child out of school before the scheduled dismissal time. Students will be excused from class prior to 1:30 providing they have a note explaining the different dismissal procedure.

You must send in a written note to the classroom teacher on the morning of the day explaining the change. The teacher, in turn, will advise the office. For an early release, you or your designee, must come to the office to sign out and pick up your child. STUDENTS MAY NOT BE SIGNED-OUT EARLY AFTER 3:10 PM!!! We ask that you avoid scheduling appointments during school hours, as this causes a disruption to the teacher's schedule, and causes your child to lose valuable instructional time.

All families must sign their child out. When you arrive at the office, just let us know who you are picking up and we will call him/her to the office to meet you.

Call us at (650) 574-6149 to report any absence from class. If you are picking your child up from class before class ends, please write a note to your child’s teacher. Ask that he or she give it to the teacher at the beginning of class to minimize class disruption.

Only those individuals authorized on the child's enrollment form may pick up a child.

The program ends at 3:30. Please make every effort to pick-up your child on time. Progress review cards are distributed to students at the end of each day and this is the best time to have an interview with the students coach. If you are unable to pick up your child they will be transferred to the nursery at your expense.

It's better to prevent problems with regular checks rather than have to get help once the problem has started. The nurse will also help you plan for the next stage in your baby's development - for example, what to expect when you start feeding solid foods. Nurses in Early Childhood Health Centres also help you to anticipate the next set of skills your baby will develop, and offer you guidance to make the necessary changes to keep your home a safe and stimulating place for your growing child.

Please notify your child's counselor at morning drop-off in order that your child will be waiting for you at the Day Camp office at the desired time..

Should you find it necessary to check a student out during school hours you must come to the main office. If possible, send a note to school in the morning so that the teacher can help your child be prepared to leave. Children will be sent for by office personnel when you arrive, since instructional time is a priority. Be sure and fill in the sign-out log in the office.

Most countries require this and we always recommend it. Traveling gives the parents a unique opportunity to see their child's environment and to begin to develop an appreciation for their child's heritage and culture. Few families who adopt internationally are world travelers. This is simply the beginning of the stretching that people do when they become parents. Moreover, the story of the trip to bring them home has endless fascination for children.

Identification for anyone picking up children is a must. Once staff persons get to know parents, it may not be necessary to show ID every day, but all parents should have identification on them in case a new staff person is scheduled in that room. We feel this is in the best interest of the children we serve.

Contact your Subject Coordinator and advise accordingly. If you have to depart due to an emergency, eg family crisis, ask a colleague to inform the Subject Coordinator, or contact the Subject Coordinator as soon as you possibly can. NB. Travel arrangements are generally not seen as acceptable reasons for departing early from a compulsory school.

Before a child can talk, it's usually pretty tough to figure out the whole type (all four letters). But after about age two or so, most children being to speak fairly fluently, letting us hear what they're noticing and how they are making decisions. So, most parents are able to determine their child's type by around age 3 or 4. Children with stronger preferences are easier to figure out than those with less clear preferences. But remember, neither way is better! And there's no rush.

If a student attends for only part of a week, the cost will be prorated when the school is billed. If a student leaves and returns to OSS he/she will be charged the full fee.

Parents must pick up their children no later than 6:00 PM. If the parent is unable to pick up the child by 6:00 PM, the parent should notify the individual designated for emergency pick up. Parents will be charged $5 for every 15 minutes beyond 6:00 PM. The child's emergency contact will be phoned at 6:30 PM if the parents have not contacted the program.

Parents send a note with the child that is to be given to his/her teacher. Students that leave during the school day are to be picked up and signed out in the school office.

Drop off begins at 7:45 a.m., and pick up continues until 2:10 p.m. Please be on time in the morning, as our camp day begins promptly at 8:15 a.m. with announcements, songs, and tefillah (morning prayers). Campers are usually at the pick up location by 1:55 p.m. Campers must be signed in and out with their counselors.

There are no accommodations for before or after care. We ask parents be prompt in dropping off and picking up campers. Please do not leave your child at the University of Maryland unsupervised.
