Even after the piercing has healed, reinsertion can be difficult and sometimes impossible. You should not change your body jewelry during the initial healing period. The initial piercing healing time is usually about 2-5 months. Be sure to always wear appropriate jewelry in your piercings, even when fully healed.

Even after your piercing is completely healed, it will take some time before the new skin inside the piercing will be ready for daily removal. From the moment you remove your jewelry, your piercing begins to shrink, and how long it can stay out will have to be experimental on your part. Unfortunately, no. Since we use only titanium jewelry for initial piercings, we will not use any jewelry for a piercing that we cannot guarantee the quality of. It is impossible to tell the quality of the jewelry or what metal it contains by looking at it. Even if the person who sold you the jewelry originally told you it was titanium, we cannot guarantee this to be true.

There are two stages in healing a piercing. After the initial healing time, the piercing will be healed enough that you will be able to have your piercer change the jewelry, at which time he/she can instruct you on how to change it yourself in the future. However, it takes significantly longer for the new skin inside the piercing to toughen up enough for you to safely remove your jewelry for extended periods of time. The hole will begin to shrink down as soon as you remove the jewelry.

It helps if you have an early night the day before, if you do go out try not to drink too much, it can make you nauseous after a piercing and increases bleeding. We do not carry any type of piercing jewelry at the moment, however many of our Arabesque designs can made with lobster claw clasps or extra large jump rings, so the chains and dangles can be detached and worn on your piercing jewelry. Nipple Rings & Nipple Shields can be worn behind your piercing jewelry. Nipple Dangles and Nipple Chains make a particularly striking statement. Nipple Rings can also be worn on your capture bead rings like a charm.

There are two steps in the healing process. The first step seals the piercing and stops the risk of the piercing becoming infected. As it shrinks, the Shrink Plastic will begin to distort and curl. After 1 or 2 minutes it should uncurl, shrink, thicken and lay flat. Externally threaded body jewelry is stronger and the bars are solid. Internally threaded body jewelry does not have any threads on the outside of the bar. Because the threads are on the inside, it does less damage to a piercing when the jewelry is being changed. Each type of threading has its advantages.
