How was this FAQ written?

US to UK Moving FAQ
I lived in Brighton, a mid-sized UK city. Cities with a population size close to Brighton are Bristol, Cardiff, Coventry, Derby, Leicester, Newcastle-upon-Tyne, Nottingham, Plymouth, and Southampton. Although the information here might not apply to so me of the smaller or more remote towns, I suspect it will apply to much of the UK.

Spiral Nature - by Psyche
This FAQ was originally written to support a new Usenet newsgroup, 'soc.religion.shamanism'. The purpose of this newsgroup is to provide a forum for discussion and exchange of ideas, views and information about historic, traditional, tribal and contemporary shamanism. This FAQ is intended to provide a useful general overview of what 'shamanism' actually means and what it is in practice. In doing so, it has focused on shamanic ecstasy as being at the heart of shamanic experience and practice.

Q#1.8: Why is this FAQ written in such a drab format?

news.answers/apple2/GNO-faq
A#1.8: Because it was considered critical that there is a easily readable text-only version available. Combined with the fact that the maintainer didn't want to spend a lot of time with source translators, this placed a restriction on the type of formatting available.

Firewalls have come a long way from the days when this FAQ started. They've gone from being highly customized systems administered by their implementors to a mainstream commodity. Firewalls are no longer solely in the hands of those who design and implement security systems; even security-conscious end-users have them at home. We wrote this FAQ for computer systems developers and administrators.

Car Talk Frequently Asked Questions
Yes, though we wouldn't advise using their books to guide you through a transmission change. They're much more effective as shims for unsteady tables. A long time ago, they wrote a book, called Car Talk (Now what are the chances of that?). In it, they explained how a car works and what to do when it doesn't.

Combined with the website itself, the FAQ you are reading is an effort to put some reliable information about psychobiography on the Web, at least as the field is understood by one of its devotees (William Todd Schultz).
