Our regular academic year begins in the Fall Term (late August) and continues through the Spring Term. All first-year courses are two-semester courses. In order to live in the Residence Hall over the summer you must have resided there in the previous Spring. We accept no new applicants for the summer term. There are two term of the summer session. In order to live in the residence hall for the second term you must be continuing on to live in the residence hall for the following Fall term. No. Except under extenuating circumstances, we do not accept applications for spring admission. There are two main reasons for this: (1) We hold a comprehensive orientation program during the week before Fall Semester begins that is required prior to entry into the program. In addition to this orientation, all international students whose native language is not English are required to attend a 2-week Associate Instructor training course prior to beginning their studies.

This varies by engineering field and program. Many MS/PhD programs will accept students in the spring but may not be able to provide funding because funding is allocated to students in the fall semester. Some MEng programs will not accept students in the spring because of prerequisite fall and spring courses.
