Within the same document to rearrange pages in Jaws PDF Editor, you must first turn of the Navigation Pane [Windows > Navigation Pane]. Then check on the Pages tab. If you are printing PostScript then your printer must have the duplex printing feature turned on. Your file will duplex print and the Flip on Long Edge or Flip on Short Edge settings will be honored. If your printer has the duplex feature turned off, and you select a duplex option in your printer properties setup, then your file will not print on both sides of the paper but any flip option you've set will be honored.

Jaws PDF Editor will not open in the web browser, but it can be set to launch when a link to a PDF file is encountered. In order to do this, Acrobat or Acrobat Reader web browser integration must be disabled in addition to associating PDF files with Editor. Launch Jaws PDF Editor. If it asks if it should be the default program for opening PDF files, click Yes. If it not promped go to Tools > Options > General. Go to where you installed Jaws PDF Editor v1.x [by default it loads at C:\Program Files\Global Graphics\Jaws PDF Editor] there you should find a file named license.num. Open this file with a text editing tool like NotePad or WordPad. Your Jaws PDF Editor license/'serial number' will be listed inside.

By default, the Navigation Pane does not open when you open Jaws PDF Editor. The only way to get the Navigation Pane to open is to set the PDF file to open with the Navigation Pane. This can be done in File / Document Setting / Document Openings, here you can set the Navigation Pane to open with this file. This means that the Navigation Pane is set within each PDF file and is not a setting from within Jaws PDF Editor.

Jaws PDF Editor uses what is known as the Base 14 PostScript fonts for substituting fonts on screen and for printing when fonts have not been embedded or subset in the PDF. The Base 14 fonts are: The quality of font substitution varies depending on what font was originally used to create the document. If fidelity to the original document is important then the original fonts should be embedded or subset in the PDF.

Jaws PDF Creator does not support any 64 bit operating system. A future version , anticipated sometime later in 2007, will have this support and we will certainly highlight this feature when it becomes available.

Yes, you will need a new license 'serial number'. If you already have a license/'serial number' for Jaws PDF Editor v1.x or v2.x please go to http://www.jawspdf.com/store/jawsstor.nsf/jpdfeu there you can obtain a new number. Please note that you must first register your version 1.x or 2.x license/'serial number' before a version 3 license/'serial number' can be obtained.

All new scenery editing tools will run on Macintosh and Windows. Betas may come out first for one platform and then the other. Because the tools will be open source, a port to Linux is possible but not planned at this time.

Yes, with JAWS Version 5 or later, and Adobe Acrobat Version 6 or later, provided that the documents are authored correctly, most PDF files are accessable to a JAWS user. A list is being compiled for people who author PDF documents. A partial list can be found under the JAWS Help Topic, "JAWS and Adobe Acrobat Reader."

We provide binary packages for Linux, Windows 2000/2003/XP (fully self-contained installer), and OSX (dmg package). We know that Inkscape is successfully used on FreeBSD and other Unix-like operating systems. Note that Windows 98/ME is no longer supported.

Generally speaking, EmStar will run on any Linux platform. Because EmStar depends on the FUSD kernel module, there is a kernel dependency. Currently, only the 2.4 kernel is officially supported, although the changes required to support 2.6 are not extensive. There may be other minor distribution-specific issues -- if you find any please report them! For embedded systems that are not x86 based, you will need to cross-compile EmStar.

The software was designed for embedded 32 bit CPUs such as ARM or MIPS. It is written in very portable 'C' code and should run on any CPU that supports 32 bit integer operations. Globulation's source code is made to be cross-platform and work on Microsoft Windows [95, 98, ME, NT, 2K, XP], GNU/Linux, Mac OS X, Solaris and other Unixes. The main system used by most of the developers is GNU/Linux, thus new builds will always be released for this platform first. Then there needs to be contributors that successfully compiled it for the other platforms.
