What are Lung Ying's basic attack strategies?
Southern Kung Fu Net Online Community - Lung Ying FAQ - Powe...There are a great number of tacitcs a Lung Ying player could take in a fight, depending on the situation. However, if one were to pin down a "fundamental fighting strategy" for the style it would run to the tune of: engage your opponent at the prefered range, use the various methods to jerk his center out (that is to take him off his center of balance, to leave him stumbling), thus robbing him of his ability to attack and defend effectively.
Related QuestionsWhat are Lung Ying's basic defense strategies?
Southern Kung Fu Net Online Community - Lung Ying FAQ - Powe...It could be said fairly that Lung Ying is never truly defensive. This is not to say the style has no defensive moves, in fact every attacking move pulls double duty by having defense integrated into it (both hands always work at once and a give technique can be applied in multiple ways). Further the structure of the stance and gaurd positon leave very little exposed on the Lung Ying player, and leave them at a mechanical advantage to defend their opponent's attacks.

Related QuestionsIs Lung Ying more oriented toward hand attacks or kicks, and why?
Southern Kung Fu Net Online Community - Lung Ying FAQ - Powe...Lung Ying is much more oriented toward hand attacks than kicks. The kicks that are in the system tend to be oriented toward attacking below the waist (yes, we hit below the belt, we're just evil like that). This stems largely from the fact the system evolved in southern china, where the cities and crowded terain conditions make the longer footwork, wider stances and bigger movements of northern styles impractical. You just wouldn't usually have the room to manuver like that in Guandong.
