Why did you choose to write a series? Are any of these characters from your other books?
Bestselling Romance Novelist, Jennifer Blake : FAQSome of the most consistent comments about my books from readers over the years have been "I dearly love your heroes," and "Do men like this really exist?" It became apparent that the basic attraction in the men I created was the mystique of the Southern gentlemen arch-type. The combination of strength, honor, courtesy, self-deprecating humor, and fearless tenderness that they displayed touched an unexpected chord.

Related QuestionsQuestion: What happens with the characters after the series is over?
Sandman Frequently Asked Questions - Part IIEndless miniseries! Or at least several of them. The two that have been specifically mentioned as possible are a Delirium series (with Jill Thompson returning to do the art) and the story of what Dream was up to just before Sandman #1. According to Gaiman, there are several stories that can be best done outside of the framework of the present monthly series. The recent Death miniseries is an example of the type of limited series and one shots that are possible.
Related QuestionsHow did you choose the names of the characters?
Catherine Gilbert MurdockChoosing names is a huge responsibility, and of course the name relates so closely to the character. It’s important even if the name doesn’t relate to that person, because THAT says something, too. For example, I don’t think of Amber as an “Amber”-type girl at all, but it shows a lot about who her mother is, and how Lori’s vision of her daughter didn’t turn out quite the way she’d planned. To be honest, I was little self-conscious about D.J.
Related QuestionsWill you ever write more books in the Northworld Series?
David Drake's FAQProbably not. I’m proud of the existing trilogy; in some ways they’re my best and most subtly complex books (observe, for example, the way in Vengeance and Justice that words are echoed either from the end of a section to the beginning of the next, or from the end of one thread to the resumption of that thread), but they’re also harsh in a fashion that I no longer feel a need to be. I actually did rough the plot for a fourth book.

residential contruction, construction defects, contract liti...My husband and I lost a fortune on our new "dream" home, despite winning a technical legal victory. Short of sickness, injury or death, it is the worst experience any consumer could ever have. We were so devastated by the legal battle and unfair court verdict (and we proved breach of contract) that we felt compelled to write about it; the result was Crooked House. Writing is a catharsis that many victims of injustice resort to.
Related QuestionsThe Castle in the Attic & The Battle for the CastleIt takes me about two years to write a novel and that was true for both the CASTLE books. A year for the first draft, some months off to think about it and then six more months or so to revise it. Everything I write, I rewrite. I've come to believe that rewriting is simply part of writing. It doesn't mean that I did it "wrong" the first time.Related Questions

Related QuestionsTalk about the Red Gloves Series. Did you originally plan for those books to be a series?
Karen KingsburyI wrote Gideon's Gift first, and it was going to be a stand-alone title. But I loved the idea of telling a Christmas story in twelve chapters ? a chapter for each of the twelve days of Christmas. I also loved that at the end of the story, it took the readers from the story to the street ? encouraging them to go into their communities and give something back.
