You are missing the CODEC (compressor/decompressor) that the AVI file is encoded with. You can test this by attempting to playback the file through Media Player. If Media Player gives you a similar message, then you will need to obtain the CODEC that was used to compress the file before you can convert it to MPEG. If the clip does play in Media Player, then the clip is most likely an AVI Type 2 file. MPEG Maker-2 currently only supports AVI Type 1 files.

Not likely. First easy way to test the mixer is flip the BOOTH CUE / MASTER toggle switch, up to the CUE position. If the audio from the BOOTH OUTPUT is now much louder then the mixer is fine and you need to run your levels higher. Make sure to set the INPUT GAIN controls so that the SIG / OL LEDs flash green. Also make sure that the MIX LEVEL controls are set to at least 3 o'clock.

The J patch downloads are exe files and replace your existing stars.exe file. The I patch download is a self extracting installer. Which will overwrite your existing stars.exe. If you wish to keep several patch versions of stars on your computer then simply rename the stars.exe files (eg stars-i.exe, stars-j3.exe). So, among righthanders, the better skilled he is with the glove the more likely he will be tried as an infielder. Among the infield positions, shortstop and second base require the most range. Turning a double play also necessitates sure hands and agile footwork around the bag. Third base does not require the same kind of range but rather quickness (in terms of reaction time) and agility must be present.

It could be one of several things. 1) Make sure that you have "ship refueling" pact shown as "Active" in your diplomacy screen for this player. 2) Check the system (hover mouse pointer over star of system) to see what percentage of fuel it can refuel to. Even if they have a space dock, it won't be able to refuel to 100% unless researched to level 2-5. If your fleet has more fuel percentage than what the system can refuel, your fleet will NOT refuel. The status of the side indicator LED's is determined by switches inside the player that are turned on or off by the disc spine. So someone removed the disc from the caddy and reversed its orientation when putting it back in. To correct this problem simply remove the disc from the caddy (another question in this FAQ specifically tells how), turn the disc (but not the spine) around, and put it back in. For ease of identification, the sides of all VideoDisc spines are labeled Side 1 and Side 2.
