Human Serum or Plasma can be used with the Biotrin HHV-6 IFA kits. To optimise sensitivity, fresh samples are the preferred sample type. However samples may be frozen at -20oC if extended storage or shipment is required (samples are stable at -20oC for at least 1 year). Please follow the specimen preparation section in the IFU when collecting and preparing patient specimens.

Qualitative Test: Dilute the sample 1:64 in Wash Buffer. Prepare all dilutions in a minimum volume of 100 uL Wash Buffer. This requires a minimum sample size of 1.6 uL. Quantitative Test: The sample ‘titre’ can be determined by preparing two-fold serial dilutions of the sample in Wash Buffer, starting with a 1:64 dilution, and adding equal volumes of diluted sample and Wash Buffer for each consecutive dilution, until a ‘+1’ grade of fluorescence is achieved.

IgG Antibodies appear 7-10 days after the febrile phase of Roseola and they usually persist at low levels for life. Detection of IgG antibodies is useful for determining immune status and active infection IgM Antibodies are detectable 5 – 7 days after the febrile phase of Roseola. IgM antibodies are the first antibodies to appear in response to an initial exposure to the HHV-6 antigens. Detection of high IgM antibodies in a patient sample indicates a recent infection.

The kit contains a 96 well plate, which allows you to test 46 samples in duplicate or 92 samples in singleton. A positive and negative control is included in this kit.

Human Herpes Virus 6 (HHV-6) is a β-herpes virus which was first isolated in 1986 from the peripheral blood of 6 patients with a variety of lymphoproliferative disorders, some of whom had AIDS. The virus has worldwide distribution with infection generally occuring within the first two years of life. It is the cause of childhood illnesses known as “6th Disease” or “Roseola Infantum”.

Slightly turbid or colored samples can be analyzed using the instrumental test kits. Visual test kits can sometimes be used, especially when analyte concentration approaches the high end of the test range.

HHV-6 is highly seroprevalent and studies have shown that the virus is present in almost 100% of the general population. Primary infection generally occurs within the first 2 years of life. HHV-6 has a worldwide distribution.

Normally, you should first encode the audio at the sample rate of the original file (i.e. 44.1 KHz for audio recorded from CD), and listen to the results. Most of the time this will be the best choice. Depending on the target bitrate, and for some audio material (e.g. speech or other band-limited source material), encoding at half of the original sample rate (i.e. 22.05 KHz is half of 44.1 KHz) will result in a noticeable improvement in quality.

Ans : Sorry, we don't provide free samples. However, we always recommend one-month packs be used for trial purposes. Gourdin takes around 20-25 days for the initial response so one-month pack is ideal.

Use our Candida Control Kits until your symptoms are under control. For many with mild candida problems one month may be sufficient. For more severe candida symptoms 2-3 months on the kits is usually sufficient. There is no specific vaccine or treatment for HHV-6 infections. Most children with the disease are not seriously ill but steps should be taken to alleviate their symptoms e.g. reducing the high temperature through maintaining hydration and removing clothing.

HHV-6 has been identified as the cause of roseola in infants and is known to be an opportunistic infection in transplant recipients. Recent studies suggest that HHV-6 may also play a role in MS and CFS.

Test tube studies have shown that acyclovir (Zovirax) and valacyclovir (Valtrex) are not effective against HHV-6. In the same test tube studies, both ganciclovir (Cytovene) and foscarnet (Foscavir) have demonstrated the ability to suppress HHV-6. Whether these drugs or other antiviral agents will be effective in treating patients with MS or other HHV-6 related chronic infections is an important area of ongoing research interest.
