akumalCurrently in the Akumals, there aren't any supermarkets. Just 2 grocery stores located right before you get to the archway in North Akumal. The store on the right (as you face the sea) offers a wider selection but higher prices. Usually we get whatever staples we can find at the grocery store on the left and then the remainder at the other. There is also a market held several days a week where fresh produce is offered. It's located just before the archway.

cozumelThere are currently 4 supermarkets on Cozumel. They are Chedraui (it often carries Haagen Daaz Ice cream!), Super Maz and 2 Super San Francisco's,. The easiest to find is Chedraui. It's on the beachfront road opposite Cozumel Palace. Generally speaking it is the most similar in selections to an American Supermarket. It has the best dairy product selections. There's a K-Mart and a gas station across the road from the entrance to Spring Valley Campground. The town even has a small airport. We're negotiating to have firewood, hay bales, and hopefully ice delivered directly to camps (probably for a small fee). Currently, these items can be bought at the Camp Store.
