Premieres for December Boys will take place in Australia, on September 9th in Melbourne (Rivoli Cinemas, Camberwell) and on September 11th in Sydney (more details to follow).

Attendance at a film premiere is by invitation only - tickets are not made available to the general public. However, if you're feeling really dedicated, you can wait outside the theatre and watch the stars of the film arrive on the red carpet! a general rule, you have to be a British resident to be considered for a role in a Harry Potter film (there are various legal and practical reasons for only employing actors and extras from the UK). The best places to look for announcements about casting calls are sites like CBBC Newsround or any of the larger Harry Potter fan sites like The Leaky Cauldron or MuggleNet. I tend to like Chamber of Secrets and Goblet of Fire best. I love those books so much . . . but what can I say? Harry Potter and the Idolatry of Yore is a Harry Potter fan fiction I started writing in January of 2000. I was trying to ease the pain of Potter-fever which we were all experiencing in eager anticipation of the release of the fourth Harry Potter book. I tried to combine as many rumors as possible that were floating around about the fourth book, and combine them into something I would like the fourth book to be. Sadly, as of February 2002, I still haven't finished IofY.

I always see 'em, and think they're fine, but they can?t compare to the richness of the books. There can be an element of strip-mining to what Hollywood does, because ours is such a picture-dominated culture. When there is a movie made of a book, the movie becomes the dominant form; it can replace the book. As somebody who loves books, that worries me. But Harry Potter in print seems to be thriving, thankfully.

I am prescribed Klonopin for my anxiety. Can I take my prescribed dose daily with my full body cleanse? Am I expected to expereince the same results? J.K. Rowling is from the UK, and she called the book "Philosopher's". For some unknown reason, almost certainly marketing based, for the US release of the book and film this was changed to "Sorcerer's". Everywhere else in the world uses the original title. The Philosopher's Stone is a "proper" mythical object, with stories dating back many years - a Sorcerer's Stone is...nothing.

I think we need to differentiate between those who convert to Wicca AFTER reading the "Harry Potter" series, and the argument that people convert to Wicca BECAUSE they have read the "Harry Potter" series. Simply stating that one event occurred after another event is insufficient to prove a cause and effect relationship between the two events.
