After you've downloaded the player, save the mpfull.exe file to a temporary local folder. Complete the installation by running mpfull.exe

Download the file lattix.tgz. Uncompress and extract the files into a directory of your choice. The installation is complete. Run shell script LattixLDM.sh to invoke LDM. If you have to modify the shell script please note that class path needs jar files from both the bin and the lib directories. There is a known bug in the MAC version of the Macromedia Extention Manager. You can only install one filter. Simply restart the Extention Manager and install the next filter. We are in contact with Adobe to fix this issue.

If your OS includes the Font Book, you can as well double-click on a font file, then a preview pops with an "Install font" button. Drag the fonts suitcases into the System folder. The system will propose you to add them to the Fonts folder.

TTF fonts DO work on Mac OS X. Simply open Font Book in your Applications directory and drag the new fonts to it and they will install automatically. You can then delete the fonts you downloaded, as they have been copied into the Font Book.

Usually the installation instructions will accompany the downloaded file itself in the form of a .TXT, .DOC, .WRI format. Refer to that file on how to install the screen saver(s). If there is no accompanying instructions, and there is either a SETUP.EXE or INSTALL.EXE, run that file to start the installation process. The toolbar requires the Microsoft .NET Framework v1.1 or higher to be installed on your computer. The Microsoft .NET framework is very common and many computers already have it installed. The SIRIUS Player is Macintosh-compatible and works with the latest versions of Safari and Firefox on both Mac OS 9 and Mac OS X. Microsoft no longer directly supports playback of the streaming .WMV format on the Mac, continued development and support has been picked up by a company called Flip4 Mac. If you do not have the latest version of the "Flip4Mac WMV" plug-in installed, you may receive a "The playlist format is not recognized" error message.

The Philips download and transcription software are not Mac compatible. However, you can download dss files recorded on the Philips 9360 MMC (NB using SP mode only) using a card reader and play these back using the Olympus AS2300 transcription kit which is Mac compatible. This is also the case for the Dictaphone 5210 and the Grundig 4010 and 4015 recorders.

On all players except the RCA J and K series, there is an access panel on top of the player. With the power off and no disc loaded, remove this panel, then open the stylus cartridge retaining lid on the pickup arm itself, and the cartridge will be visible. The cartridge is locked in place only when the retaining lid is closed, so with that lid open, the cartridge lifts straight up without resistance.

Go to the box at the bottom of the page, enter your name and email address, select whether you want the Windows or Mac version, then click on "Download QuickTime." After downloading Quicktime, double-click on the installer, which will appear on your computer's Desktop. QUICKTIME WILL NOT OPERATE UNTIL YOU COMPLETE THIS ADDITIONAL STEP! You can access the Flash Installer by either clicking on the Macintosh or Windows button at the top of the archive website or by going to What if the slides are not showing up? To play the slides Macromedia Flash Player 7 needs to be installed on your computer. If working from a home computer, make certain that the latest version is installed. The link for the player is close to the top of the archive website.

Make sure that your default Web browser is Internet Explorer. Other browsers (Netscape, Firefox...) are not supported and may lead to malfunctions or the impossibility to install the software. After downloading the CONNECT Player and before installing the update, make sure that you close all the tasks, especially SonicStage, anti-virus software, spy/malware removers, etc. To check the version, click Help, and then click About CONNECT Player. The version will appear in a new window.

There's no need to install any additional drivers if you are using Windows XP. If you are using Window 98 then you have to install USB drivers supplied on the CD. The driver will enable Windows 98 to recognise USB flash disks. The 128MB player is not compatible with version 9 of Windows Media Player. You can check the version by clicking on HELP in the top tool bar of the program, followed by ABOUT WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER. The version will be displayed like so 8.xx.xx.xxxx or 9.xx.xx.
