No. Many students choose to be creative with poster boards and construction paper instead of computer printing. Just make sure you follow the poster guidelines, include all the necessary sections, and ensure that your poster is legible from a distance of 4-6 feet away.

Tests have shown that images can be printed at much larger sizes, depending on the image type and screen ruling used. On composite inkjet devices, customers regularly reproduce our images on posters at A0 sizes and larger. We can print Black & White and the four process colors used in offset printing (Cyan [C], Magenta [M], Yellow [Y]and Black [K]). When these four colors are printed with halftone screens of various angles in this subtractive print method, they create oranges, reds, violets, and so on.

A minimum of 100 ppi (pixels per inch) at the final output size is suggested. (An example would be: 6"x6" original to be output 20"x20". 20 divided by 6 = 3.3. So you are enlarging your image 4 times. 4x100ppi = 400 ppi. You should scan your original at 400 ppi, when your image is enlarged 4 times the resolution goes down 4 times, resulting in a 20x20 at 100 ppi.) Vector based graphics & text (Illustrator, Freehand, CorelDraw, QuarkXPress) are scaleable to any size.

The optimum resolution for large format printing is 150 dpi at the final printed size. If the digital picture is between 72 and 150 dpi at the final printed size and has good quality colour and contrast then it should be fine.

You can provide a disk that will be used in a computer-to-plate process. If you wish to control the process, you may work through the proofing process and provide a contract proof and a disk ready to rip and make plates. (Due to variations in the digital proofing process, we will need to make a proof calibrated to our printing process to compare with the proof provided. Additional system work may be required to assure the printed product will match your contract proof.

One poster board will be allocated for each poster presentation. The poster boards have the format of 2 meters high and 1 m wide. We would very much like to get a electronic version of your poster (in addition to your paper poster to be displayed on the congress) to publish it on the mednet website. So if you email us your original file (eg Powerpoint) and/or a jpeg file (with a resolution good enough to read everything) before the congress we would be happy to publish it on the website.

Each poster presenter will be provided with a corked boards and push-pins. The Poster boards are 48" w x 36" h (NOTE: change from previous years). There is no size requirement for your poster, but plese keep the board dimensions in mind when printing.

Space provided for posters is 3.75 feet wide by 4 feet high. It is not necessary to use all the space provided. Posters should be complete enough that anyone can read the poster and understand the research.

One thing that has to be done is the correct gearing has to be used for a focal length and focus distance, if you don't, film speed and camera rotation wont be synchronised and objects in the image will be the wrong shape. To find the correct gearing you have to measure specific distances on your camera, feed the info into the gear program on this site and it'll give you the gear numbers you need.

Collect all your figures into a single file. In the drawing/layout software, you should use create a blank canvas/slide/drawing that has the desired dimensions for your poster. If you print in "portrait" mode, your canvas should be 42" wide. If you print in "landscape" mode, your canvas should be 42" high. You also want to use "Page Setup" or the equivalent print driver command to tell it about the size of the page.

Yes, but with limitations. If you have any pictures or bitmap logos placed in the document, they will need to have enough resolution to be at least 100 dpi at the final size of the poster. If they don't, they will become pixelated (jagged) when blown up. Fonts normally blow up without any problem.

Yes. And the poster may have any dimension that you desire. You only have to go to a printing house with the .eps file that you received from us. The .eps file doesn't lose its quality and it can be increased at the needed dimensions.

If you are prining a photo, send the file in JPEG or TIFF format. If you send the file in JPEG format make sure the resolution is set at about 300 dpi, so that the image will appear crisp when printed. B) If you are printing a logo, send the file in an EPS format if possible. If you send your file in EPS format, your logo will be crisp and clear, no matter what size you print it.

Ink is an integral part of an inkjet printing "system" because the ink chemistry must have the viscosity and surface tension necessary to flow easily and reliably through the printhead nozzles, but dry quickly enough for the paper to be advanced onto a take-up reel without smudging. Third party ink manufacturers rarely develop the right chemical composition for trouble-free printing.

YES! The image area of a Better Light scanning back is slightly smaller than 4x5 inch film â?" itâ??s 72 x 96 mm (about 3 x 4 inches) for all models. This smaller image area produces a modest â??lens factorâ?? multiplier of 1.25, so (for example) a 120mm lens used with the scanning back would have the same coverage as a 150mm lens used with 4x5 film.

Several manufacturers, including Contex, Vidar, Ocй and Calcomp make scanners specifically designed for large format documents up to E-size (34" x 44") and A-0 size (33" x 46.8"). If you do not have one of these, the document can be reduced in size using a photocopier and then scanned with a normal scanner, or sent to a service bureau that has large format scanners.
