In most cases you won't see any difference in the video quality for average length 90 minute movies. In some cases where the movie is very long, you may see some compression changes during certain scenes. There are three main causes of this: In Project64 the video plugins work with Project64's RSP plugin to produce their full range of graphics. Other emulators require their own RSP or support for PJ64's RSP to produce these effects. Two, Jabo's video plugin may be using the Project64 RDB to load specific settings for the game. I've done my best to accomodate as many browsers as I could. Unfortunately, many browsers have limitations, and do not display things as I intended. Internet Explorer 6.0 should display fairly well. Netscape/Mozilla 6+ should display everything well, except for my inline forms (limitation of the browser). The only browser that displays this site exactly as I intended is Opera 7. MediaPortal needs to support a large range of TV cards. For this it uses the Windows DirectShow API. The applications provided with most TV cards will communicate directly with the card and therefore can perform better in certain conditions. They can do this because they only need to support a very limited set of hardware and the provided applications typically have a limited feature set compared to MediaPortal.
