Hostelling International USA welcomes both members and non-members (US residents), but non-members are required to pay a higher overnight rate for each night they stay. During busy travel months, some HI-USA hostels may welcome members only, due to limited capacity. To ensure that you always have access and receive lower rates and many other benefits, in the US and around the world, it is highly recommended that you become a member before you travel.

No, you can just come, but during July and August our campground is the busiest and we do suggest you make a reservation so as to get the hookups and amenities you desire. However, you should make a Kamping Kabin reservation! If you don't, there most likely won't be one available!

Student and mentor participants will have paid for reservations at the hotel(s) of our choice. We will have two students share one double room, and provide single rooms for mentors. We try to accommodate the roommate preferences that you will be able to declare on the confirmation form. In some exceptional cases we allow students or mentors to make their own hotel reservations.

No pets are allowed at any hostel with the exception of Assistance Dogs where the Hostel Manager has been informed and an agreement made in advance. Space is reserved on a first come, first serve basis. If you have reserved your site for 5 days and decide at the last minute that you want to stay an extra couple of days, we will do our best to accomodate you. During peak season, (June 22nd through mid-August) it is sometimes difficult to accomodate every request, especially for full hook-up sites. It's not that we don't want you to stay, but others have made reservations and we may already have rented the site for the day you are leaving.
