If you did have 92 hours transfer in towards your degree requirements, you must take at least 30 hours, or your senior year, in residency at CofC. All new students enter CofC as an undecided major. Once you have attended an Orientation and registered for your classes, you may officially declare your major through the appropriate academic department at that time.

When you enter the university, or transfer to Cal Poly Pomona, you should have been provided an evaluation sheet noting both courses you have taken and units which you've received which can be allocated to categories of requirements in collaboration with your faculty advisor. Save this evaluation sheet and check off the classes which you have taken. It's sound advice to keep this and other department advisory materials, together with grade reports, in an academic planning folder.

Theoretically one only has an accredited degree if it was earned after accreditation. For many practical purposes, however, it is unlikely that an employer will say, for instance, "Did you earn your degree from the Graduate School of America before or after November 17, 1997?" Once a school has been accredited, it is likely (but not certain) that all its degrees will be regarded as accredited, whenever earned.

In this scenario, the student earns a degree from a school that is accredited by an unrecognized agency, and later the agency is recognized by the Department of Education. This is such a rare situation, we really don't know if there is a precedent. Common sense suggests that if the school or degree was accredited all along, and if the only change is that the accreditor becomes recognized, then the student would have a degree with recognized accreditation.

The answer to this question varies from student to student. It all depends on how many credits you transfer into your degree program and the pace of study you choose. Our classes are offered in both 8- and 16-week semesters, so you can choose the pace that best meets your needs. For example, a student who successfully completes 2 courses every 8 weeks for a year can earn 36 credit hours in a year, but a student who takes the same courses over 16 weeks will earn 18 credit hours.

It depends on you and how much time you have available to commit to your education each week. Our experience indicates that if you matriculate (enroll) with about 45 credits, you can finish your associate degree (60 semester credits) in less than a year. If you matriculate with about 90 credits, you can finish your bachelor’s degree (120 semester credits) in 1-2 years. Graduations occur every two months. All dual credit students are given the same rights and privileges as other Lone Star College?Tomball students (use of the library, counseling, ELC tutoring, etc.) The grades earned in dual credit courses become a permanent part of a student's college transcript.

Graduation requirements may vary depending on when you entered Lehman, your status upon entering (e.g., transfer student, entering freshman, candidate for a second bachelor's degree), and participation in particular programs (e.g. Adult Degree Program, CUNY Baccalaureate Program, etc.). I entered Lehman as a transfer student during or after the Fall 2002 semester with a CUNY or SUNY associate degree.

Many of the programs offered under the U of I Online umbrella do lead to degrees. There is no full degree officially offered at a distance at Montgomery College. However, with careful planning, you can arrange your schedule each semester to include a majority of distance learning classes. You should work with a counselor to plan your degree requirements. Then, each semester, carefully check the class schedule on the DL homepage to determine which of your requirements can be fulfilled with online classes.

These can be regular university classes or extension classes. The units can be used toward one of the many certificate programs offered by Extension or transfer the units to another university. A certificate will normally take two years of part-time enrollment. A degree will normally take two years of full time study. Many students take longer, however, either because they cannot attend college full time or because they may require some brushing up.
