ISSA students may submit a petition for an unapproved provider's course. The course must be directly related to the member's fitness profession and educational growth in professional fitness industry. A petition for each CEU program approval must be submitted and must be accompanied by all appropriate documentation and fees for review. Each petition is reviewed at the discretion of the ISSA advisory board.

You do not receive direct credit for the CEUs you have earned. However, they can serve as valuable background information when you are studying for an exam to earn credit or when documenting knowledge in the portfolio process. Yes. Tuition refunds will be based on the date you cancel and the amount of program assignments completed, calculated as follows: Students who cancel within 5 days of course enrollment will receive a refund of all money paid to the institution. Students who cancel after 5 days but before the calculated 50% completion deadline will receive a refund based on the following Tuition Reimbursement Schedule. Course completion time is calculated based on completing two units (chapters) of study per week.

Students can transfer a course to another student within six months of the original enrollment date. A completed Course Transfer Form, a copy of the current student's photo ID, and a $50 transfer fee must be submitted to the Student Services Department prior to the six-month limit. There are three options: 1) The course can be taken as non-credit professional development with the participant receiving 30 PDU's (30 professional development units); 2) The course can be taken for 2 hours of continuing education credit from Lewis & Clark College; 3) The course can be taken for two semester hours of transcripted, degree applicable, graduate credit from Lewis & Clark College.

No. CEUs are not issued for CPR, AED, or First Aid training. CPR/AED training is a separate requirement for fitness certification and therefore will not double as credit toward your CEU requirement.

No, we do not automatically credit the course to your CEUs. We ask that you please fill out the Continuing Education Log and send it back into us. We also do not automatically credit the CEUs to you if you instructed an offering. The purpose of this is to eliminate confusion and duplicate entries from submissions from the member and chapters

When you complete a course for CEUs or CEs, you will be provided with a continuing education approval form that you will fill out and mail to Signing Online. Received forms are processed at the beginning of each month. Processing takes approximately two weeks. If we do not receive the forms by the beginning of the month, they will not be processed until the following month, so total time may take 4-6 weeks. Please plan accordingly.

Not all the non-credit (CEU) courses are offered for credit. Non-credit courses are required for many reasons: to improve job skills, for pay raises, to keep a certification current, to acquire certification. The largest number of people who take these courses do so because they want to learn what's in them! Our continuing education courses are current and practical. They connect you with colleagues in your field and experts on a variety of subjects. Many people with an M.L.S.

The reason university courses have prerequisites is to ensure that you have the appropriate background for the course. However, if you believe that you have a background equivalent to the prerequisite, you may submit a Prerequisite Exemption Request form for approval.
