You may request any type of item that is not held at King's e.g. books, journals, theses, reports, conference proceedings and patents.

You may order photocopies of certain materials not available through ILL, such as magazine articles and reference materials. Photocopying charges may be incurred. We require a check or money order for these charges made payable to the lending library. The lending library's name will be identified on the envelope attached to your copies when you pick them up. If you do not pick up the photocopies, you are still responsible for the charges.

This course is required by those individuals whom divisions and sections wish to be authorized to perform the radiation surveys required by the Material Move Request Form (MMR) when there is a need to determine if some item is radioactive or not. [An individual does not need to have had MMR training to sign the MMR form if a survey is not required, i.e., the initiator knows from process knowledge that the item in question cannot be radioactive.

Almost any type of research material may be requested through Interlibrary Loan. The following types of material are frequently obtained via ILL: Most libraries will not loan recently published books. For popular items please use your local public library. For academic works there may be a waiting period of up to six months. Depending upon the availability of requested items, the time required to obtain materials from another library or vendor is from ten to fourteen days.
