The original Museum, established in 1931, was located at 10 West 8th Street, New York. In 1954, the Museum relocated to 22 West 54th Street. The present location of the Whitney, 945 Madison Avenue, was designed by architect Marcel Breuer and completed in 1966.

The Whitney collects and exhibits American art from the twentieth and twenty-first centuries. The Museum's collections start at 1900 and continue to the present. The fifth- floor galleries contain art from the permanent collection, 1900 to 1949; the second floor exhibits art from l950 to the present day. Other floors are devoted to changing exhibitions.

All of the art that we sell is real hand-painted. This art is created by talented artists from various places in China. About 90% of the art we sell comes from artists that Sandy (my business partner) or I have a personal relationship with. We have met the artists, and watched them work. Sometimes we have paintings commissioned exclusively for Oriental Outpost, and several artists in China depend on us for the majority of their household income.

The museum is located five miles north of the White House in northwest Washington D.C. on the campus of Walter Reed Army Medical Center, which is bordered by Georgia Avenue, Aspen Street, 16th Street, Alaska Avenue, 14th Street, and Fern Street. The 5,000-square-foot adobe Ranch Headquarters house, built in 1967 by John S. Sullivan, features displays pertaining to the natural and human history of the Park. These include a timeline delineating the history of the Ranch, displays of prehistoric artifacts discovered in Colossal Cave, and a comprehensive caving museum.

The South Dakota Air and Space Mueum has exhibits and displays on the Minuteman system. These include the actual Missile Procedures Trainer which missileers trained for capsule duty on. Tours are also given of a Minuteman training silo which maintenance crews used to learn proper procedures for maintaining the missile. The museum is located off Intertstate 90 exit 67, 7 miles east of Rapid City.
