Certain airports including Dubai impose restrictions on carriage of baggage whereby no single piece of baggage may exceed 32 kilograms in weight. This however, does not affect the overall free baggage allowance per passenger. These restrictions enforced by either airport authorities or ground handling companies, aid in preventing injuries and ensure the safety of baggage handlers. If your baggage has been damaged, it is important that you contact either the Lost & Found office or our agent at the arrival airport. Immediate, written notification serves as proof that the damage occurred when the baggage was in the possession of TUIfly. Passengers are obliged by law to submit notification within 7 days in case of international flights and within 3 months in case of domestic German flights. The carrier is no longer liable after that period.

Passengers wishing to check luggage will be charged a per person, per bag, per segment Baggage Transport Fee. All Baggage Transport Fees are non-refundable. Each bag must weight 50lbs or less. The outside measurements of each bag must not exceed eighty (80) inches. Each additional bag, in excess of two, will be charged a fee of $50.00 per bag. The total number of bags allowed may not exceed 5 per passenger.

Checked baggage for charter air is limited to two suitcases not to exceed 62" and 55" respectively in overall length, width and height per passenger. Also, the total weight of all suitcases may not exceed 44 pounds. Each piece of excess baggage, subject to carrier acceptance, cannot weigh more than 22 pounds and may be subject to an additional charge. Baggage limitations for scheduled air vary by carrier.

CATSA has deployed and continues to deploy Explosives Detection Systems (EDS) to screen checked baggage. CATSA is committing $1 billion for the purchase and deployment of EDS at airports covering 99 per cent of all passengers in Canada.

They will be treated as checked baggage and will be screened following the standard screening procedures for checked baggage.
