For our two-year MBA program, full-time work experience is not required, but most of our students have two to five years of full-time experience prior to enrolling. We do accept a very small number of outstanding students who are just completing an undergraduate degree. Our one-year Accelerated MBA (formerly the Twelve Month Option) program is designed specifically for individuals with advanced degrees and work experience.

Unlike many MBA programs, we do not have a minimum work experience requirement. Our students normally average about 2 years of work experience, but because we do not have a minimum requirement, some outstanding students are coming into the MBA program with little prior experience. Students without full-time work experience are given a multitude of opportunities while in the program to gain quality experience through internships, assistantships, and class-related projects.

The Top 20 MBA schools are the most competitive and sought after schools. You will need a minimum of 5 years of work experience to be eligible to apply to a Top 20 MBA program.

Absolutely! It may be only one year, but you can still have a complete MBA experience. Students receive the same degree and have the same faculty as the Two-Year MBA Program. Students in the One-Year Program can participate in almost every Goizueta activity.

We ask for a minimum of 3 years work experience which must be full time and undertaken after you graduated from your first degree. This is an absolute minimum – usually students have more than this!

We do not accept transfer students. If you are currently enrolled in another MBA program, you would need to apply as an incoming 1st year student. After admission and receipt of your deposit to attend the program, you would have the opportunity to transfer up to 8 credit hours of previous graduate level business courses. Information on that process is sent to all admitted students. You may only apply to one Cox graduate program at a time.

No. This is due to the cohort nature of the program, in which entering classes move through each class of their programs together. We do not accept transfer credits or provide exemptions for courses done at other MBA programs. No exemptions are giving for courses previously completed toward another undergraduate or graduate degree. Nor is any advanced standing given for previously completed degrees. The Rotman MBA is a comprehensive program that must be completed in full.

Admission may be granted to candidates with less than three years work experience, who present superior academic credentials and truly outstanding evidence of leadership through professional and personal experiences. No. The Programme is suitable for people who come from technical backgrounds (for example engineering, IT) as well as for people who have worked in finance or consultancy or run their own business.

Although your previous work experience will enhance your practicum experience, it cannot substitute for your internship. The practicum is an integral part of the curriculum. The practicum experience provides the opportunity, under supervision and with classroom support, for students to utilize the theory and skills they have learned in the classroom setting.

Absolutely. In fact, it's a requirement that you be employed while taking the Executive MBA. Classes are conveniently scheduled all day Friday and Saturday on alternate weekends at Segal Graduate School of Business in downtown Vancouver. The program is completed in two years.
