You simply need to use an appropriate surface shader (that uses the shading language function "texture()"), e.g. "paintedplastic" from "BMRT2.6b". Those shaders usually have a parameter for an image file, where you may specify a TIFF image file to be mapped onto the object.

Another issue is a lack of standard in geometry and texture mapping formats. For large DXF files, importing as Objects will take longer than importing as Background. You may want to "freeze" DXF file layers, import, and convert the files, incrementally. There isn't any, because Collectify automatically saves your changes as you work. Whenever you make changes in Collectify, such as adding a new object or updating an address for a contact, that information is immediately recorded to your computer's hard disk. Should your computer suddenly turn off (due to a power failure, for example), all the changes you have made in your collection will be saved, except perhaps for those made in the few seconds before the computer turned off.

When importing Inventory into Marketworks via the Monitor page, images used by the marketplaces are also imported. These images will have the name that was given to them by the marketplace while it was on their servers. Other methods of import do not import images. DEVONthink cannot extract the text part of print- or editing-protected PDFs. When you import them, you get a log entry that tells you that the PDF file contains "no text."
