I'm not a racer, but I weigh 250 pounds and ride aggressively. Which boot do you recommend?

Snowboard Bindings, Boots, Boards, Accessories for Carving, ...
If you are looking for the stiffer boot, I would suggest the Indy. With your weight and strength you will be able to compress that boot with no problem. If you want something a bit softer, try either the Suzuka or the Head Stratus Pro. However, if you are aggressive with that much weight and decide to go with the softer boot, we are not responsible for any problems the boot may encounter.

Nature's Platform FAQ's
You can try using concrete blocks and some plywood. Stack two blocks on each side of the toilet. Cut the platform to the right size with an opening in the center as in this picture. If you don't have a jigsaw, use three boards as in the right-hand picture. Set the platform on the blocks. When you buy the blocks, measure them. The actual size is usually one-half inch less than the stated size. For example, 6 X 8 X 16 inch blocks (a good size to get) are actually 5-1/2 X 7-1/2 X 15-1/2.

I'm entering a non-military category - what type of shoe/boot do you recommend?

FAQs
It really depends upon your goal. If you are running for time, you want a solid running shoe. If you are walking, you might consider a lightweight hiking boot. What ever type of footwear you decide to wear, train in the shoes/boots you intend to use on the march. You should have at least 100 miles on your marching footwear. This ensures your gear is broken in and will minimize the chance for blisters. You might also consider wearing gaiters to keep sand and rocks out of your shoes/boots.

From a physics perspective, your spouse will generate more force on the mattress than you will. Usually a heavier person will want a thicker, firmer mattress. The main thing with a bigger person is to ensure that there is enough material so he or she doesn’t “bottom out” (meaning, feel the foundation or the bottom of the bed).

FAQ #250. What tubes should I get for my Manley 250's?

Manley_FAQ_Frequently_Asked_Questions
For the output tubes, we use the EL34EH (Russian), and have found these to be quite good. We sell them at $14/ea in quantities of 20 (two matched sets of ten). We also use the Slovakian JJEL34's which are pretested for us by my good buddy, Aspen Pittman at Groove Tubes who imports them. I have heard good things about the Svetlana's too but they are hard to procure at times. It's tough to evaluate the lifespan of a tube until it dies so we stick with what we know works and sounds good.

I gotta tell ya, I LOVE LOVE LOVE getting on the scale. I don't know what it is about stepping on that scale and watching the number go up and down like it does, but it motivates me either way. If the weight is up, then it makes me determined to get it down. If my weight is down, then I rejoice and let that push me to even greater success. In fact, this study proves those who weigh often are usually the most successful at keeping their weight off over the long-term.
