Fingerlings cook quickly and are a great addition to virtually any meal. They can be baked, roasted, grilled, steamed, sautéed, boiled, fried or mashed and offer outstanding flavor and color to your favorite meal.

We are currently slated to be in the Longhouse, which has 13 dorm-style rooms. Each room can sleep up to 4 (bunks), although we plan to use them for double occupancy. We will also have the Old Lodge as our convening and social centre. I have not yet visited the Rocky Mountain site myself, so I can't say much more about it. I do plan to get a site visit in before April if possible.

Although Bark Lake caters mostly to school groups these days, they also do adult programming and have a separate menu for those of us that do not recognize French Fries as a standalone food group. Depending on our ultimate group size, we could be using the large dining hall and cafeteria-style serving area, or the smaller, intimate dining room with buffet-style service. There is always lots of salad options and a hot vegetarian entree to complement any meat dishes.

Rocky Mountain spotted fever is a serious, generalized infection that is usually spread to people by the bite of infected ticks. The disease gets its name from the Rocky Mountain area where it was first identified. Rocky Mountain spotted fever is caused by Rickettsia rickettsii, a specialized bacteria. Ticks infected with the organism transmit the disease to humans.

Grand Teton National Park is world-renowned for its wildlife viewing opportunities. Some of the most sought-after animals that can be found inside the park include: moose, black and grizzly bears, pronghorn, elk, bald eagles, gray wolves, coyotes and bison. Always stay a safe distance of at least 300 feet from large animals; wild animals are unpredictable and can cause personal injury or even death if not respected.

When a mountain lion is declared a public safety threat, the DFG’s goal is to eliminate the threat in the most humane manner possible. Capturing a wild animal that is accustomed to traveling great distances and confining it to a relatively small enclosure is not a humane option.

The Durango-La Plata County Airport (DRO) is a one-hour drive from the ranch. Delta, United, America West, US Airways, and Mesa Airlines provide service. We provide an airport transfer service for $25/person. We will provide the same transfer service for any accommodation in Durango. A map and specific driving instructions are provided in our written literature and on this website (location). The ranch is located 35 miles northeast of Durango, Colorado.

Some hotels provide airport shuttles and you can also use Durango Transportation (call 970-259-4818 for details). The Durango/La-Plata Airport is 19 miles outside of Durango.
